Wimb I understand his point, it's not so much the fact teams get the odd party at our place, it's more the fact it's been 3 in 9 months :(

Yet we've "partied away" twice in the last 2 months :|

Shame we lost on all three occasions, of course, but at least they were games at the right end of the table and in the cup, rather than being desperate relegation dogfights that resulted in us going down...I kknow which type of game I'd rather be watching...

Stranded We got to party at Leicester, we got to party at Brentford, we got to party at Anfield.

We got to party after QPR, we got to party after beating Wigan in the Play offs.

Need I go on...

Ughhh, the above all happened within the last what, 9 months? You are talking years go...

8)

Difference between winning promotion, securing a play off final, or a semi final at wembley im afraid. We won an FA cup game in the early rounds and about 1,000 traveled. Very different.

Getting bored of seeing away fans party now.

I agree. Two successive home games and we see Birmingham celebrate promotion at our expense, and then Burnley. Villa was a slightly different matter but not hugely different.

We DID have Leicester and Brentford to do the same at, but they'll even themselves out. It's just the fact that theres been 3 in 9 months that's been annoying.

FiNeRaIn .
Im fed up of seeing northerners

Couldn't agree more.

Re: celebrating at our expense I gues that's just football. When you win you celebrate. When you win away you celebrate away.

Its bound to happen every now and then that we win away in a significant game of some sort and celebrate (WBA, Leicester etc) and other teams will do so here.

I agree it's never nice to be on the receiving end though.

With MacSaviour I'm sure we'll see more good times than bad now...

I don't think that Barnsley, Plymouth, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby fans have had much of a party at the Mad Stad recently.

The middle two bought quite a few fans only to suffer an injury time winner and a tonking respectively.

I suspect we may see some crying Baggies fans in the away end soon too as we dent their auto hopes with a beating in a game that will probably be meaningless to us........

FiNeRaIn Why does everyone always get to party in our ground?

Can think of three in less than a year. Its becoming annoying to watch, us trickling out with a few mins to go on each occasion with the away fans in full pelt taking the piss.

Birmingham - sealing promotion, having a right sing and a party in the ground....at OUR expense.

Burnley - sealing a wembley trip in the play-offs, having a right sing and party, once again at OUR expense.

Villa - sealing a wembley visit, having a right sing and party...once again at OUR expense.

Im fed up of seeing northerners singing and dancing, waving arms, laughing in our direction, hugging each other, clenching fists at their teams and leaving to head home with a massive smile. Getting on my tits now.

Oh and the Birmingham is in the Midlands.

Scotland is up north.

THREADS LIKE THIS MAKE ME SICK.

FFS Just think about it a bit. There is a simple solution.

Put walls in between the south stand and the rest of the stadium, and a panel of thick glass at the front (so they can actually see the game).

Obviously to make this work the divisions between the west and south and the east and south would have to be moved so as to be at right angles to the pitch or else the wall could restrict some away fans view of the pitch.

That way a smaller portion of the ground would have to see the away fans and nobody would have to hear them...

'Ah' I hear you say... 'What about atmosphere?'

Simple - make the wall an automatic barrier that slides out of the end of the stand - although the glass would have to stay put all the time or (drop in from above) I guess.

And you could put advertising on the walls, so it would pay for itself over time.

PRELIMINARY DESIGN SENT TO RFC ENGINEERING DEPT - THREAD CLOSED.

We were invited to the party but we started drinking and getting high too soon and fell asleep in the bathroom after ninety minutes. Eventually our corporate hosts asked us to leave and we walked off to the nearest kebab shop for some late night munchies.

I would still rather be blue and white.......
