The best thing about the current midfield, especially Tabb, is that it allows Kebe to be the luxury player he is.
No manager on Earth is going to persuade Kebe to tackle back, so why not leave him on the half-way line and pick a more combative centre midfield? Excellent tactics by McDermott, play to your strengths.
We look deadly on the break. As soon as the ball is cleared we've got the strikers and Kebe in space, and it's given us goals! None of that would be possible if you had centre-mids who consider themselves 'creative'

if he carry's on like this he will start to get compared to our all time great vertically challenged player. Great touch, uses the ball well, never gave less than 110%, challanged for every lost cause including going for headers against players over a foot taller, and helped the rest of the team play well ...... there is Only One Richie Bowman but maybe he is deserving of there is Only One chant tomorrow!!

I don't rate Tabb better than Karacan; I rate them equally superb. Our improved form owes something to both of them.

I give McDermott a lot of credit here. Neither were in favour before he took over, though Tabb had been brought in at right back by Rodgers (McDermott disagreed and used Gunnarsson there before getting Griffin). The fact that Tabb and Karacan have been successful is partly down to McD's style of play (and vice versa). He wants a terrier in midfield and he wants non-stop commitment over every inch of the park. These two bring it.

He is playing well, but i truly and honestly think he really is not very good - he has no real position as he fails to excell in one area, which points to a hard woring journeyman footballer who is honest as the day is long, but simply not quite good enough. Makeweight - dont get me wrong, im not saying he is a bad player or not needed at the club, but he will never be first choice in my eyes.

Tabb has been getting a start in midfield after Jobi got himself a red card at WBA and has been absolutely committed and on his game since his opportunity arose.

Personally I would play an unchanged (winning) side, however it would not surprise me if Tabb was dropped to the bench. (Or will it be Howard )
Our manager is going to have to start earning his pennies and upsetting some of the squad. It really will be an interesting call as we already have Boris and Marek vying for starts in midfield.

The treatment of Tabb was the final straw when it came to me crossing over the floor from pro-Brendan to anti-Brendan. I can't believe a player of his experience and energy was considered surplus to requirements. Then when called upon to play as right-back, he never gave less than his all and often looked a more natural fit than any other part of the defence. Mr Consistency.
