No way, he's class.
No other player puts defenders under as much pressure as Shane Long.
His (terrible) penalty miss aside, he's in top form. He had a similar chance to the one he scored against villa blocked on the line last night too.
As said before, his goal was top drawer.
When Rasiak went off, Long switched to the 'big man' role, and won as many headers as Rasiak did for Church.
I agree Church is good, but he's fighting it out with Rasiak to play alongside Long at the moment. A great problem to have!

PS, Hunt will be back soon(ish) too......

He deliberately missed. He was embarrassed to be taking a pen against an outfield player and felt sorry for him.

Mike Hunt Shaun has the first touch of a rapist.

Is that a good or a bad thing?

Or, as The Telegraph said:

"The night, however, belonged to Savage. Deeney was dismissed after fouling Tabb in the area and Savage – who had had a mediocre game in midfield – obligingly pulled on the green jersey, in time to see Long send his penalty well over the crossbar – presumably because he could not run the risk of Savage actually saving it."

Except the overhit pass that he controlled well for his goal.

That's funny, The Guardian says:

"The in-form Kebe flashed a cross across the face of goal before he created the opener for Long in the eighth minute. Former Derby favourite Grzegorz Rasiak started the move with a fine turn before spreading the ball wide to Kebe. Kebe drilled a first-time pass into Long's feet but the striker showed a great touch to kill the ball and then knock it past the defender Shaun Barker."

I'm not a massive fan of Long, but like Kebe, he's really starting to perform in this current run.

Anyone who was at the game last night will agree that his touch was first class, his effort was top notch and he took his goal superbly. Sheeeeite penalty though.

Yeah it was a great goal and he's playing really well at the moment.

(nb This doesn't detract from the fact that he's a gap-toothed big-arsed bag of shit though)

Agreed.

Like Kebe, we'll see if he can carry on the form in the long run...

Look at last season with this season for Shane

He has scored 18 goals in 24 Starts. On exact minutes he's played less than 30 full 90-minutes.

He is averaging a goal every 1.65 games. For comparison Doyle last season was a goal every 2.19 games

11 26 15.33 09 01.70 0153
13 08 14.33 09 01.59 0143

24 34 29.67 18 01.65 0148

That is a fantastic goals per games ratio especially for someone who is apparently crap.

There is an opportunity to vote for Shane Long as the player of the FA Cup Sixth Round now up on the FA website.
Not seen this plugged on here, unless I missed it, but we have pushed this for other players in the past.
