Abput thirty people booed him when he hit the ball out towards Kebe for about the tenth time with no success. I coudn't believe my eyes when he then showed the East Stand the finger - it wasn't as if he'd been subject to continual abuse, it was pretty much one incident of booing after a period of generalised groans each time he played sh1t balls.

Then a much bigger number of fans clapped his every touch and eventually chanted his name.

I wouldn't have booed him, but his distribution was getting beyond a joke. He then sulked like a kid and ran off down the tunnel at the end.

McD will need to give him a wee talking to, he can then do an interview for the OS that goes in the Post explaining he was frustrated but is now sorry (a la Long throwing his short off when substituted) and everything will be rosy again. I hope.

The booing was out of order, however....

His long balls were utterly atrocious, and for a professional footballer to give his own fans the middle finger is even more atrocious. Jimmy Kebe has taken that level of abuse for most of the season and risen above it, it shows how mentally fragile the bloke is. If he can't take it (and he should never have got it in the first place), then he should f off to league 2 where everyone else is so shit his long balls will look good.

the only reason he was playing long balls was because he had sweet fa else to do. rasiak and kebe we're waiting for it and siggy and church for the flick on. if you can tell me what else he could have done i'd be amazed!

Every time Griffin was available, as was Bertrand, as was Sigurdsson in the centre. He had a simple short pass every single time to a player that was in a better position to pass, and are better passers.

He was booed by thirty people, he showed thirty people the finger. As a fan that was sat in the section where he aimed his finger I feel no malice towards him, as I clearly wasn't the intended recipient.

Firstly, I despise the handful of idiots that will boo our own players. I was in Y25 and saw nobody doing the booing so must have been such a small minority, you're all a disgrace considering the recent treat of form you've been given from all, including Mills.

Secondly, Mills is a DISGRACE. This guy has been shown nothing but support since we signed him, and to then stick his finger up when a minority of fans are booing at the people who pay week in week out to see the team play and fuel his WAG-filled lifestyle is unforgivable. Does this guy know he's born? He seemed like a genuine guy beforehand, but now has a long way to go now to prove he isnt some overpaid tosser with a WAG girlfriend a N96 up his rectum, and no some generic apology will not fix the disrespect he has given the majority of us loyal fans. Hell we even tried to support him following the incident. If this is the behaviour we can expect, when will we get a news story breaking along the lines of Cashley or Terry, wife swapping with Richard Dunne, or perhaps just a cheeky post training shower with Ron Grant.

There were a good number in the East Stand booing him which I thought was disgraceful. He had been fantastic for us for weeks and been MOTM several time. I could not believe the idiot Dellor on BBCRB having a right go about him and dozens of texts saying he should never play for RFC again. I despair of Reading fans. Personally I like to see a bit of passion and still hope Mills goes on to be Captain one day.

All above opinions are valid. Every post I read I feel like agreeing with.

The facts of the matter are...

1) Those who bood initially are idiots but have some right to as they pay wages - sadly such folk will always exist at RFC
2) Those who bood after the swearing had every right to but you don't stick your finger up at those who pay wages especially when kids are present
3) Mills was an unprofessional fool for sticking his finger up at them - compare with the gentleman Kebe is
4) but he is not used to it and was just a bit hot-headed. He will learn.

It's all a bit of a flash in the pan really and we just need to calm down a bit, as does Millsy. No big deal, just hotheadedness.

MacSaviour will chat to him, he will almost certainly do the right thing, feel very embarrassed when he calms down and genuinely apologise for it publicly.

All will be forgotten.

Mills if you're reading this - don't worry about it mate you just got a bit passionate, no big deal. Sincere apology and the attention will turn to the idiots who like to boo and you'll be cool again.

Disgraceful behaviour from Mills - if you're going to repeatedly punt the ball out of play then expect some stick. I didn't hear anyone booing just groans and frustration, the lad needs a sharp reminder of his place and position in the club. Hardly captain material is it.

the initial reaction was bad enough, but he had a chance to be the bigger man and hold his hand up when they were chanting his name, it would have all been done and dusted then, he choose not to do that.

His reaction at the end was worse and just escalated the whole situation.

Completely agree. I didn't agree with the initial booing, it was clear that the long diagonal pass was part of our game plan, regardless of whether it was working or executed well. To flick the finger to your own fans was stupid, but could easily be passed off as frustration. He was given a chance to kiss and make up with the East Stand by acknowledging when his name was chanted. He then had a further chance to acknowledge the overall support for him at the end, but he decided to run off like a spoilt child.

Suspect he just feels a bit silly now. Probably good news that the next two games are away from home. Be interesting to see how McD handles the situation.

From the North Stand I heard him being booed before he gave them the finger.It really helped as well because his confidence was shot and the next time the ball came to him he held on to it for too long and lost it.

Just remember one thing though and it's something Millsy should have remembered as well. He will drive home in his nice car to his fit missus and you lot will have driven home in your clapped out Skoda to your porno mags. So who has the better deal?

Reading. I am not saying for one minute he should be booted out, I just suspect that someone will pay a decent feeto take him off our hands in the summer. He is performing excellently and is upwardly mobile. If that - sadly - is his attitude as displayed tonight he will be missed.....but not much.
