Portsmouth are going to do it again!

Like they did when they last won the FA Cup and relegated us.

Looking at how Wolves got fined for fielding a weakened team against Man Utd, surely they would be mad to risk getting fined for fielding weakened teams - that would make their financial situation worse...

Toys out of pram........

No other team has moaned when being deducted points through entering administration. This will only add to everyone's hatred towards Portsmouth

They didn't relegate us, you spud.

Our inability to collect enough points over the course of the whole season did.

It's fair to say that by fielding a weakened team in that final game they extinguished our final chance, but as you rightly say we shouldn;t have left ourselves relying on them to do the decent thing.

What toys out pram rant. "Because you've taken points off us then we aren't going to play with you" :)

Hopefully that will piss the FA off sufficiently to fine them - deducting from the payments that are due to them of course.

You have to wonder whether those rested players hoping to avoid injury before the world cup will feel at all guilty about still getting paid shedloads while the club suffers. Oh and the fans might as well just F off too and save their money for the cup final ticket.

No it really isn't - the team they put out was good enough to get a draw but they didn't. Plus the chances we created in that last game at Derby we could and perhaps should have got the other 3 goals to stay up - plus we shouldn't have left it out of our own hands.

To lay blame anywhere else is and always will be sour grapes.

Let's not get bogged down in the Reading aspect, and just  at Portsmouth.

If they actually have the nuts to do this, it just shows how morally abject they are.

If the administrator has any sense, he will ensure Avram Grant understands the ramifications of picking a weakened team for the club and if he does remove him from his post.

Intent may have something to do with it !

Shane intended to score at Birmingham, he just messed up.

Pompey didn't appear to intend to make much of a game against Fulham.

Human nature will also be a factor.

The more he opens his mouth about this whole situation, the less I like Avram Grant.

First his comment about how Pompey shouldn't be deducted 9 points because their fate should be decided on the pitch, not as a result of some league rule, but conveniently forgetting that he wouldn't have the players he has to even compete on the pitch if Pompey hadn't gone so far into debt administration was a distinct possibility.

Now this stupid comment about consistently fielding weakened teams - and especially the bit about 'saving themselves for the FA Cup semi-final'. Well if they're that concerned about it, maybe the FA should throw them out of the FA Cup and let Birmingham take their place.

Trouble is, you know the PL are going to do f-all about it, because next year Pompey will be the FL's problem, not theirs.

What a complete prong brain he is. After the Wolves incident a precedent has been set as well so there's no way the Premier League should be able to turn a blind eye.

If they do get fined though, what's the betting it would be a negligible amount e.g. £10000 so it doesn't make any great difference to their overall debt?

Perhaps also the FL should make a statement along the lines that any club that deliberately flouts Premier League rules puts that clubs place in the FL at risk, e.g. demotion 2 divisions not 1

It pretty much already had though, which was an amazing fail. The fact that the teams in and around the relegation zone (effectively 12th down) could be looking at this as 3 easy points :!: , could make the West Ham / SUFC court case look like a storm on a Portsmouth teacup.

Wigan, Wolves, Hull and Bolton are still part of their remaining fixtures. I wonder what McCarthy has to say about this.

It's a shame West Ham weren't in the remaining fixtures as adding the £10 mill into the mix could prove the turning point needed to sort the whole shbang out once and for all.

What are they going to do, field a team of tea ladies? Oh, of course, they can't, They sacked them all this week.

Why field a weakened team when the first choice team is shit enough already?
