There not many clubs outside the Prem who's academy can have such a good rep.

Based on just reserve team performances (which imo mean little) and promotion chasing side want one of our academy products. This happens time and time again and shows just how far the Academy has come under Hammond/Dolan.

The future real is bright. Baggie looks another real prospect.

Also if he does well, I'd sell Henry for £250k + this summer.

i don't know if im reading into this too much but bell-baggie is a striker, so what does his performances have to do with Henry who is right midfielder

Henry is a winger but can play central midfield or up front. I wouldn't say he's a 'right midfielder'.

Baggie from what I know is an 'in the hole' forward although can play in midfield as well.

I wouldn;t have thought they are in direct competition in terms of position but possibly in terms of a contract if (say) we decide we want a squad of 23 and there are already 22 names down on the list.

Noticed this from a couple of weeks ago, he made his debut 27th Feb after coming on for the last 7 mins, came on as sub in their next game 2 days later.

"Maidenhead have agreed to sign Reading youngster Trevor Mutero on a
work experience deal.
Mutero is an attacking winger who can also play upfront. He joined the
Royals as an Academy scholar in April 2009 and has also spent time on
loan at Bracknell Town this season. Manager Johnson Hippolyte has made
the signing to bolster the Magpies attacking options which have been
badly hit by injuries recently and hopes this could build a bridge for
future links between the two senior Berkshire clubs."

Anyone know any more about him?

Yea I went to school with him, he's terrible. He'll probably be released in a year or this summer. Not worth monitoring how he gets on.

Alex McCarthy made a bit of a howler against Bristol Rovers today. David Mooney scored a nice goal for Charlton though. Oliver Bozanic scored for whoever he is playing for too, can't remember.

Some local park team down the road. Great goal by Mooney I noticed he was giving the Charlton fans the cupped ear treatment, which would suggest they have not been over impresed by his performances?

McCarthy has been immense for them but I'm sure he'll learn from this rare mistake. Nice to see Mikkel Anderson doing well for Brizzle too. Also good to see bozzy on the score sheet, but he still hasn't managed to win over the supporters at Aldershot yet.

Our academy must be one of the best in the south at the moment. Look at the quality of the players we have produced over the years. The quality of the players coming through now is also very impressive.

How many times do you see players in teams at a lower level who have a Reading connection?

I think that we will see even more in the future.

Every player who comes through our academy and makes a career for themselves in football in a success and one that we should all be proud of. The Academy is their to provide a service to these young boys and it is a testament to the club that nearly all of the graduates seem to have the attributes to make it at various levels.
