Maybe they're putting Cummings in the shop window by making him captain, so he can be sold in the summer? (We can only hope)

It's no coincidence that our turn round in form has coincided with the arrival of a full back with a pair of bollox on him.

We might not get Griff, but a tough tackling, no nonsense full back of similar ilk, will be what we require.

Cummings needs to grow 4 inches and put on 2 stone. I've seen him up close and was shocked at just how small he was. Looked like a 1st year academy player.

I back MacDermott to get the best out of Cummings. He did look the worst player in the team against Middlesbrough, but everybody was rubbish and defending is a team activity. It will be much easier to slot in at right back when the other three, not to mention the goalie, are playing well.

Rosenior has no links to the club now, so he is no more likely to join us than any other overpaid ex-premiership star available on a Bosman. I thought he was OK during last year's hoofball disaster (probably the least culpable), and he looked like one of Ipswich's best players both times I saw them this year. So I am sure he will get a club somewhere.

What about Julian Kelly? Was out for a while after getting injured against Burton(?) and now on loan at Wycombe but he looked decent in the times I saw him last year. Wouldn't be a bad choice as a back-up IMO.

He's got much more bulk to him. Decent size chest, solid ass. Big thighs.

I'm well aware how this all sounds btw....

bassavage Cummings was captain of the reserves today when Pearce and Karacan were both playing.

A sign that he isn't out of the picture?

Very surprised by that. I thought Pearce would be the obvious choice. Cummings will get another chance at some stage.

I've always like Rosenior. Thought he got down the right wing quite well (despite not being the greatest tackler). I think it all depends on whether Griffin's loan deal is made permanent or not.

But yeah, he does seem to be a bit big-headed.

Remember when we where in a relegation fight early on and he came out saying Ipswich were better and that he had been treated poor by Reading? He's now admitting that Reading have done fantastic and that they are a great club - almost like he's trying to talk his way back to the club...

But I wouldn't mind that. Even if he was on the bench.

Cummings is 6 foot!! How tall do you want him to be? If he grew 4" then he'd be as tall as Sonko!

Edit: Griffin is 5ft 8" and 10 stone 10. Cummings is 12 stone.

Having stood next to him there is no way in a million years he's even near 6ft.

Cummings prob feels a bit shite. Clearly hasn't turned out how he was expecting. But he seems a good lad, you never hear him complain in public and I'm sure he's been working hard in training.

Certainly would not look too much into it.

The official site and his Wiki page have him down as 6 ft 0 in, without getting a tape measure out and measuring him i don't know what else i can do. I remember saying he looked tall on his debut. Perhaps you have him confused with someone else.

AthleticoSpizz Liam hasn't featured in the past few Ipswich games

not even on the bench............is he injured...or just dropped?

Shit. The same as he has always been. Keane just takes a long time to work these things out. I would rather have Bodin back than Rosenior.

Bodin was a left back Ian. HTH.

Yes. And?

You're opinion on Cummings doesn't matter a damn. He'll almost certainly get another chance here. And to say he is the worst defender you've seen in about 40 years is quite frankly laughable, seeing as I've seen many worse than him in just the last 15. Which happen to be pretty much the best years of the club, with the majority of the best players.

Im sure Cummings will get a clean slate come pre season next season,Griffin however has added coolness and quality to a defence that struggled before. With regards to Rosenior he has a very high opinion of his own modest talents....from what I saw he was always falling over, missing vital tackles and prone to giving the ball away..... however he thought he was good enough to be in line for England selection.
We would need going forward another RB even if Cummings developed....either Griff or ANO with similar attributes

Terminal Boardom
AthleticoSpizz ...and that is the end of Cummings career under MaccyD in your opinion then TB?

He is the worst defender I have ever seen play for us.

Swales, Bodin, Stuart Gray, to name but three who deserve that honour ahead of Shaun Cummings.

& Irvin Gernon, Mark Whitlock, Elroy Kromheer - there are probably loads more from div 4 days

I can't believe the grief Cummings gets given he was only individually awful in one game. Yes he wasn't great in most of his games, but there was signs of quality there and he didn't play in the best of circumstances.

What surprised me was the fact that Cummins was captain with Pearce in the side. It seems like Pearce is near the end of his time at RFC , no longer even considerd vice capt. It was noticable that the web site used the heading that Cummins was capt and that seemed more news than the 7 goals. Could this be the start of BM starting the road to get Cummins back into the mindset of the supporters?

Cummings actually did okay when I saw him at Crystal Palace earlier in the season. Perhaps McDermott could do something about the lad?
