Despite this medical advice, Hunt has managed to score a few goals for us, so I'd say it was worth us taking the risk.

Forster had a few injury problems when he first came to us. Would you say he was not a success at Reading?

Spacey, it depends on the type of injuries as to whether a signing is worth the gamble or not.

Hunt has done alright when he's played. However, how many months has he been injured for during his two seasons here? About 2/3's of his time here? That's a lot of wages wasted where we could've perhaps signed another forward, just as good, or better, or perhaps even worse, but at least been able to play him.

I hope it's not the last we've seen of Hunt as he seems an honest player and decent member of the squad. He's by no means outstanding though, and you have to wonder if signing him was the right thing to do if the medical advice was not to.

He has appeared in 47 league matches for us (32 starts) which means he has played in nearly 55% of our matches.

Agreed. He's strong, has decent pace, is a good finisher and is good in the air. Strikes me as more suited overall to a one up front role we've been seeing recently than Long (unless he's at his best), Church, or Rasiak.

Agreed. He's strong, has decent pace, is a good finisher and is good in the air. Strikes me as more suited overall to a one up front role we've been seeing recently than Long (unless he's at his best), Church, or Rasiak.

Was thinking the same thing - he has a place in the team as 1-up; just needs to get fit and show his capabilities. Given BM's ability to get good performances out of other players, I would rather see what he can do.

Fair enough, not quite as bad as I'd thought, although still not quite what you'd hope is it, only being available for selection for something like 60% of games.

I like him as a player, but he does seem to have problems with his fitness, not only being ruled out through injury but also being able to get through 90 minutes at this level (he works bloody hard when he's on the pitch though!).

You mean a similar way to Dean Ashton and West Ham used to say he was on the road back to recovery before he retired?

I'm sure Hunt is keen to get back to fitness, and I've no idea is Flloyd is making it up or has a reliable source, but there could well be some medical advice suggesting he's ripe for the knackers yard that Hunt either doesn't know about, doesn't agree with, or just can't let out as common knowledge.

I hope he does get back to fitness, and soon as well.
