TEN MEN

by Snowball » 14 Apr 2010 16:03

After yesterday, was just wondering how many ties we've finished with ten men this season?

Shane off twice (once in the cup)
McAnuff off
Mills off twice
Gunnar's injury
Church

That's 6/42 games?

Any more?

Other than yesterday, have we finished with ten because of injures?

Didnt Griffin also go off injured a few games back, and we played the final few minutes with ten?

Brian Howard has been largely anonymous at times this season. Does that count?

Football speak my friend. He goes missing or disappears if you're struggling with the terminology.

Sorry, given the 'cheap shot' nature of the comment i simply wanted to make a jocular response.

I think football speak terminology should probably have given us a response of 'b*llocks' - apologies if the subtlety went as far over the head as a Matt Mills 'pass'

To be fair my initial thought was to single out Cummings but I thought it was too easy. Seems Terminal Boardom didn't feel the same way though!

I don't think so. When you are faced with a relegation battle, there is more chance of making the tackle that could result in a second yellow or straight red. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Compare this season to the disciplinary record in 2005/06... and last season for that matter.

05/06 the other team rarely had the ball long enough for us to foul them, so it was inevitable our discipline record would be outstanding.

Seem to remember plenty of games like plymouth away where we soaked up plenty of pressure and just hit them on the break.
