brendywendy as unfair as it is to the stellar perfomers who have shot us up the table since xmas - like mills, griffa, kish, tabb, kebe etc imo you have to be consistant across the whole season.

so its:
1: gylfi
2: berti
3:...............oh poo..........mcanuff, despite totally contradicting my last post.
as one of the only players to play almost every game, and play ok in all of them.

Like the backtracking there.

Jobi would've achieved god-like status forevermore & probably would have got 2nd if he'd scored that goal at Anfield as well.

Where's Long on that list then?

Bertrand has been the most consistent player this season. Hasn't put a foot wrong and his importance to the team has shown through. By awarding him 'Player of the Season', he may not need to think twice about making the move here.

What's your point exactly as I seem to have missed it?

Long scored the winner at Anfield and doesn't have Godlike status and isn't appearing on the list of many at all.

No way does Long deserve to be in contention for POTS. Yes he scored at Anfield but Jobi's attempt would have gone down in history as the GOAT Reading goal other than Robin Friday vs Tranmere.

That's what I meant when I said he would have achieved god-like status forevermore.

I suppose its all about ones view of a game and opinion.
I think Berti has had a fantastic second half of the season as have Kebe, Mills and Tabb.
However before Xmas none shone and I include Tabb (who was mostly played out of position) and Berti who I thought was pretty poor.

There is no doubt that Sig has been consistent and will probably win. (Jobi has been inconsistent) However I voted for Kebe because IMHO he has been awesome since Christmas. Literally gone from zero to hero and his work rate and commitment have to be applauded.

Having said all that, I thought ALL the team yesterday were magnificent and the man of the match was probably the Posh keeper.

Can't really look past the Sig or Bertrand to be honest, if I have to pick a third I'll go for Church because he's scored goals all through the season including big ones against Palace, Brizzle, LOLiverpool.

So yeah as above

1. Sig
2. Plastic
3. Church

1. Gylfi - absolute class all season.
2. Bertrand - solid though unspectacular 1st half of the season. Like most of the sqaud superb under McDermott, particularly going forward.
3. Kebe - 2nd half of the season so good that it more than makes up for his indifferent start. Narrowly edges out McAnuff who has been more consistent throughout but less spectacular in our recent run.

Special mentions too for Long, Mills, Tabb and Griffin. Had we had a full season out of all 4 I'd expect we'd be 3rd or 4th now.

Siggy
Bertrand
McAnuff

Over the full season, these players have been the most consistent.

Kebe, Bryn, Griffin, Tabb and Mills have been excellent, but only really in this calendar year.

Taking the whole season into consideration....
1. Bertrand
2. Gylfi
3. McAnuff (ahead of Griffin only because he only had half a season)

Of course if you could vote for the manager as well, then it would be a no-brainer who's the main man of the season.

Feels strange because last season we finished higher and yet it was hard to see beyond Armstrong. This season we seem to have so many candidates - Sig, Bertrand, Jobi, Tabb, Fed, plus the half-season wonders Griff, Mills, Kebe, Zurab, Church, even Shane Long. It almost feels cruel leaving out Howard from that list. As it is I'll pick my three from the full season and go:-

1. Sig
2. Bertrand
3. Tabb

LoyalRoyalFan Bertrand to win it for me.

same here he has been solid most of the season.....not the best defender but made some excellent crucial tackles and not really had a terrible game...good going forward....plays similar way to Shorey

Mine
1. Bertrand
2. Sig
3. Kebe

Kebe would win it if the season had started in Jan...last few games he's been brilliant (despite a few screws up - he should have had 3 or 4 against peterborough)!

Illustrates just how irresistable he was during the first 3 months of the year. More than one opposition manager described him as unplayable.

Well done Jimmy, you really turned it around. (Nevertheless I'd put him in 3rd place out of that shortlist).
