2 world wars, 1 world cup I suspect the answers may be very obvious, but I've never been afraid of askng obvious questions to get a discussion going :)

For as long as I remember we fans have been moaning about the lack of talent coming through from our academy despite it always being hailed as a great academy.

But right now we have so many fantastic players suddenly coming out the academy.

Is it because with the time lag of developing these players we happen to be entering the period where we're now finally reaping the rewards?

Yes and no.

No, because the answer is not as you suggest but, yes, because it should be obvious.

Give yourself a coconut if you have the right answer which is....................................Steve Coppell used to be our manager, now he isn't.

Change. The. Record.

You are now officially the most boring poster on here. SSC has not been our manager for near on 1 year. Why the hatred? Did he nick your bird? Has he shagged your Mum? FFS, move on you boring, tedious cvnt!

Barry the bird boggler
Jonathan Hayes

Looked to be going places but very quickly faded and went onto Leicester and then Cheltenham and now?.

Now with Inverness Caley and has played a big part in their run of 19 games unbeaten to win promotion. Saw him play on Saturday and he's a credit to our academy. His manager Terry Butcher has acknowldeged that he's one that bigger clubs could be after.

The fact you have nothing better to do than read the offerings of someone you consider to be the most boring poster HNA? says more about you than me.................................wouldn't your time be better spent crawling into Steve's Y-fronts

Woodcote, you are seriously unbelievable.

You're blinkered insanity is mind numbingly idiotic. Stop your pointless dribblings about Coppell and move on. We know you don't like him. We know you spout shit when ever you mention him.

Just to annoy you. Sir Steve Coppell = Reading FC's greatest & most successful manager ever.

Ian, your 16,000+ ill informed posts (especially the match reports based on Tim Dellor's equally ill informed observations  ) rarely annoy me.......................they are merely irrelevant.

Here'a an idea. If my posts annoy you so much why not put me on ignore.............................you could even contact Steve's fanzine (he must have one, surely :| ) telling him about your act of undieing loyalty.

In the meantime, I will continue to post my views on all things RFC regardless of the temper tantrums emanating from Steve Coppell's increasingly pathetic fan club.

Surprised that a poster as good as you of all people, fell for WR's obvious fishing trip.

If only I could have heard about the second page of this thread on the radio before I decided to look at it.

Its pretty evident that our academy is far, far superior to previous generations now. Sig, Church, Karacan and pearce have all played decent roles this season as well as a few appearances from people like HRK, Davies, etc In previous generations we'd see a quick 20 minutes from our prospects then off to obscurity for the most part. If there was ever a time in RFC's history we needed our academy to produce it was this season and for the most part it has. Good job to all those concerned.

I can. Got an abundance of midfielders. Tabb, Sig, Karacan and Howard can all play centre mid with ease and none are going anywhere any time soon( despite the nonsense that sig's off). He won't get ahead of those and with our style of play, he's not going to be playing on the wings.

Good young talent, shame to see him go but from the games I saw of him he didn't offer much other than a good shot and you need a lot more at this level. Would take 250k for him if we could get that.

'greed

and when you chuck in cisse and marek when they are fit davies is miles down the pecking order and any decent fee should really be accepted

think he would be worth keeping if marek and cisse are sold/released because of their high wages and lack of appearances this season
