Who should we sign?.

by fruits » 21 Apr 2010 12:49

We obviously will need new players if the loan players do not sign, it looks unlikely that Griffin, ...Villi or Bertrand will start next season with us.

Hooper of Scunthorpe could be the 20 goal a season player we need he is only 22 years old same age as Long and Church, but he seems a natural goalscorer and has banged goals in for all the clubs he has played for. Natural goalscorer is not a term I would use to describe Long or Church . There is some interest from Premiership clubs apparently , but hope we can put a bid in .

With regard to the defence it is difficult to comment until we know who will be here , if Ingy goes as well as Villi we are down to two centre halves,Mills and Pearce .

Just hope that Griffin , Villi and Bertrand stay with us.

Midfield no need to sign anyone, just get shot of Marek, an expensive luxury and Cisse.

Hope Mr Mad realises that we have the potential with the present players to at least make the play offs next season, and hope he does n´t cash in on the Sig or anyone else. Financially the club should be on a reasonably firm footing and another big sell off should not be necessary.

I can´t wait for the new season to begin .

Reading turned Gary Hooper down a few years ago. I saw him play for the reserves against Millwall I think it was, they had him on trial from Grays at the time.

hooper would be a brilliant signing imo. a proven goalscorer at this level for scunny and i think should be available but may cost a fair bit.

if we could keep griffin, villi and bertrand we would be sorted i think. highly unlikely that we would buy bertrand so maybe could get him back on loan.

then let marek go unless he can suddenly prove he will be fit for enough of next season to make him worth his wages. the same for cisse as well

No. Don't care how good at this level he may be. I'd like to see Billy Sharp. Is he at Doncaster permanently or on loan from Sheff Utd? We have a better chance if the latter.

Late last year when we couldn't score I was having a discussion with a mate and singled Sharp out as someone we could realistically sign who I'd like to see here. He is just on loan at Doncaster too.

Think Mackail - SMith/Hooper type forward player, who can play wide or in the hole as well as up top would be ideal.

Then obviously the back 4. Under the impression they want someone more similar to Ivar than Kish, we all know Griff has a young family in Stoke and I fear that a lower Prem team will take a punt on Bertrand.

JM is by all accounts is more positive about his future at the club in years and we all know a happy JM is a bit more open with his wallet. Sure he will give McD what he asks for, just like he has nearly always done.

Think we'll see more outs than ins. Reckon we could rasie over £1m for Henry/Davies/Kelly/Andersson.

I cannot remember the last time Reading went a summer without paying a transfer fee.
