Excellent - so SC can do us a favour by stuffing Blackpool.

BBC local news says Millen staying in charge until the end of season as Coppell and the club are still in discussions

Same sorta size club as us, only down the road... yeah I wonder why.

If it was moved, why wasn't it just merged with the other thread?

They're welcome to Cisse and Matejovsky as their new central midfield partnership...

A Skuse/Elliott combo is a classic Coppell midfield.

I seem to remember there being quite a delay is Coppell coming here, with it being reported for weeks that he was coming.

Confirmed on SSN, with official statement tomorrow from City. Totally gutted by this. Along with Swindon, City would be the other 'please do not go there Coppell' club. Will be weird welcoming him back next season.

Just imagine how Palace fans felt when Coppell went Brighton.

Won't be weird at all, I plan on giving him the fully raptous applause he deserves. Reading legend in my eyes.

That said, I hope he does poorly at city as I don't at all like them as a club. Another group of fans who believe they are far bigger than they are.

Average way less than us and claim they can start taking our players when they are a smaller club. LOL@that.

I'm not sure that there will be many players moving down the M4 to join him.

They won't be offering massive amounts of money and we've not got many of his players left anyway. I can;t see him taking an injured Ivar or Hunt, he may want Bryn although he's probably too old now and of our current lineup there is really only Shane Long who you'd call a 'Coppell' player.
Amazing how quickly things change....

Agreed, good points there.

Tabb is a coppell player obviously, but after starting to win over the Reading crowd and fit into our style of play, he's more than happy here i'd say.

I mean I look at city and see an average championship side, no real funds, average crowds and no real exciting young players so coppell has his work cut out. We look exciting for next season with players like the sig, tabb, kebe, mcanuff, etc Bigger crowds despite our worst season for years.

I'm not remotely worried by city taking any of our players.

That was sort of my point. I don't want to see Coppell fail at any club, which is what makes it harder to see him at our local rivals.

I was surprised and a bit disappointed when I heard that Coppell was going to Bristol City but when I thought about it, it's probably their averageness that attracted him there. Apart from their fans with their over inflated sense of self importance, they'll probably be content to let him develop the squad over a couple of years like he did with us, with not huge funds to work with and I think he'll like that.

Fans will naturally see him as an instant panacea but that is a common trait amongst all fans.

Look at us before our 106 season - decent Championship club finishing 7th on 70 points and the previous seaon 9th on 70 points, Bit like Brizzle now...
