Brilliant, Wages are the only obvious issue then.

Agreed.

I can see us being priced out of both players due to wages.

If he wants to come, which he obviously does, then that may not be as big a problem as some expect - esp if we free up wages elsewhere.

You'd say that all parties will be aware of the wage requirements and possibilities and if there was a massive gap then the talks wouldn;t even be taking place.

My guess is that discussions will be more around structure of payments, the club will probably want a big bonus element whereas the players will want as much guaranteed as possible. So the bottom line figure is probably the same and realistic but the question will be how confident the players would be about earning the bonuses.

Didn't see this coming at all. Looking forward to doing "a Zurab" next season already!

I'm sure he's earning enough to afford a season ticket, especially as the prices have come down.

Sounds hopeful, personally I'd bring him in and be happy to release Ivar which would presumably give us a small net saving on salary and a younger player. Playing regular games for us in the Championship also shouldn't affect his international call ups.

Lastly his signing - and hopefully also that of Andy Griffin - would show some ambition to the rest of the squad and fans and hopefully help in our quest for other players be they permanent or full time loan

And that's another option, how many Premiership players are there available on loans that could be outstanding at Championship level.

Another ploy from the club to con people into buying STs.

Could be a real coup.

I think the 'ambition' factor could have a huge impact. If I think back to 05/06, it was the signing of Lita that I think helped to mould us into such an unstoppable team. Not his 'playing' impact, but the message it sent out to the squad. That along with the hangover from Wigan's promotion party and of course SSC

RTGs on. He must know what sort of wages are available at the club and wouldn't come out saying this if he wasn't willing to accept figures in that ball park.

Agreed, hopefully (he says in uncertain terms) that he will accept (Reasonable) wages offered to him if it gives him the chance to play for us!

Why don't you just forget about it all? You're clearly not happy supporting the club, reading about it on here must really pain you. Just go do something else, it'll be better for all of us really won't it?
