Particularly bearing in mind his comments re: Palace last week. Would look ridiculously foolish if they then went into administration themselves.

I'm sceptical about his comments of relegationj not being a big financial issue, primarily because of the level of debt and the now increased scrutiny of debt from the media / creditors etc. It's one thing carrying a £20M debt in the Championship, a totally different matter when it's in League 1.

But there are rules about clubs not being allowed to start the season without a CVA agreed aren't there? That's why Rotherham and Bournemouth got those 17pt deductions a couple of years ago IIRC.

The Championship club were back at the High Court on Wednesday morning for a further hearing regarding the outstanding debt.

I read that and the article on Beeb site. I see:

The club was given a "last chance" at a court appearance in March but received more time as investment was imminent.

I'm puzzled. How did they get more time if it was a "last chance"? I think the excuse of an imminent investment is a bit of a fuzzy cop out.

It's cheating. They haven't got the money, they should have been placed in administration and docked the points from this season, Swansea going into the play-offs as a result.

Now they can choose to 'find the investment' if they're promoted (many would invest for all the PL guaranteed income) or go bust if they miss out.

It stinks.
