Barry the bird boggler How on earth did that get leaked out? If this is accurate I reckon there could be a bunch of mightily upset players at West Ham looking to get away as soon as possible.

Let's hope this is the first step on a return to the football league for them next season.

Considering he's just stated that everone bar Scott Parker is for sale, I'd be very surprised if a certain Mr D Sullivan wasn't behind this leak, assuming it's genuine.

Kind of backs up his point of the financial ineptitude of previous owners if Luis Boa Morte has been on 70 grand a week for the past 3 years.

I think this is the most shocking on that list:
Steve Clark Assist Man £24,200 £1,258,400 Sep 2008 N/A Contract Sep 2008 - June 2011; Ext Jun 2013 (@Apr 2009)

More than Mike Phelan at Man Utd, reputedly.

had to get him from chelsea though

if you look at it with Scott Parker as your base though it's more horrifying - he's their only good player, most of the rest should be on about 50% of what he gets at absolute most

The reformed Chester FC were granted the lease to the old Chester City FC Deva Stadium at midnight last night by the council and have applied to the FA to be considered as a reformed club this morning (as opposed to being a new club which would put them near the bottom of the pyramid). They should go into the Unibond League 1 (3 below conference national) for the start of next season, and have advertised for a new manager. Budgets are to be announced shortly so that the manager can start looking at players.

The reformed team will be run by the supporters group - City Fans United.

I'm particularly pleased Colwyn Bay escaped Unibond Div 1 via the play-offs now!! Chester should go through Div 1 fairly easily as FCUM have, although re-formed Halifax have taken two seasons before going up in style (100 points) this season.

Realistically means that any other club in Div 1 is left to scrabble around for one of the four play off places at best.

Good luck to Chester and I hope their fans take to this level of the pyramid with the reasonably good grace that Halifax have rather than trying to give it "the biggun" being a big fish in a small pond.

Colwyn Bay were the second best supported side in unibond div 1 last season and they average 350-400. Halifax averaged c.1500 which I would imagine Chester will do aswell; the problem they have is they will be everyone's cup final. Do you know if they will be in North or South Division yet?

If Gloucester's experience is anything to go by it wouldn't surprise me to see Chester dumped into the Southern League Midland Division.

Recommended listening tonight is "The Report" on Radio 4 tonight : "Investigating the financial crisis facing Premiership and Championship football."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00s7dw2

Below is a summary of the programme:

With the football season drawing to a close, Morland Sanders investigates the financial crisis facing Premiership and Championship
clubs. Many are saddled with huge debts.

One manager says his club's business model of high wages and bonuses simply does not stack up and threatens the viability of the national game.

And the outgoing Football League chairman has warned that the affairs of some clubs are not transparent, making it impossible to determine who the owners are - and the level of debts on the books.

Didn't know you were from this part of the world Waxers.

Late 80s would have been after the move to Llanelian Road from Eirias Park but before the exile years in England? I've lived here since 98.

Just really trying to put in to persepctive how far down in to non-league football Chester will be going if the Bay are currently one of the bigger fish with crowds of 3 or 400! Most clubs get 100 or 200 watching them most weeks.

Nice relatively new club house at Llanelian Road and beer is a reasonable £2.50 a pint, chips and gravy, and you can see the game from the windows aswell...think I might spend more time there next season!

4 years growing up in the Bay 88-92 - when Mad Howard was still roaming!

Yes it was when Llanelian Rd was a new ground - promotion after promotion as well as Welsh Cup semi-finals, was great
