Archie's penalty Yep I'll be supporting Swindon on Saturday. Who cares about Millwall?
I assume you mean next Saturday?

NR_Royal I don't understand why Reading fans don't want a local rival in the division. Surely the whole point of rivalry is that we are able to compete against each other? Obviously I wouldn't want a rival team to overtake us, but an intra-division rivalry sounds a lot better than an inter-division one to me.
Surely a local derby is something fans should want and not hate?

FiNeRaIn Swindon aren't really arsed about us and its been a while since they were good enough for us to be arsed about them, they'll probably consider bristol city as their rivals when promoted.

Another moron. We've played them more times than anybody and I'm sure it's the same for them.

No he's actually right - Swindon tend to see Oxford as their main rival - we see both more as rivals than they see us - our main rivalry is Aldershot. Both sets of fans do always look out for the game though and the atmosphere is always a bit more lively than your usual game.

Ark Royal Started to watch Reading in the 60s and I learned pretty quickly from my uncles that Sw*ndon were very much the local rivals. History of games went back a long way; and always big crowds at Elm Park for the derbies, if not the biggest of the season. Even as a kid, I could sense there was something special about these games and it has stuck.
Back then, the Pox were just the new snotty-nosed kid on the block with little 'history' and as for the Shite, our paths very rarely crossed except for cup games.
