Fluff He's here
He's there
we're not allowed to swear
Martin Hicks

Heard at Fulham away after a load of ejections in the away end IIRC c. 1991

I see no mentions of Mark McGhee and his Magic Hat, shocking.

Steve Moran had a couple of songs, "Billy Whitehurst shagged your missus" was one.

Was also heard after Tony Ella was spectacularly arrested at Swansea for singing "you Welsh person" around the same era!!

Not so much old school, but during the 2008 home game against Pompey their fans were singing "going down with the scummesr. Response "You're going down on a sailor." Only bright memory of an otherwise crap afternoon.

Funnily :| enough I was stood next to Ella when he was singing that at Craven Cottage, was it just him that used to sing it?

I think it was a few people that struck it up in the South Bank and could have been in response to the new no swearing signage in the SB as part of Annie Bassett's attempts to purge any remainig fun from watching Reading games in the late 80s. My memory fades!!

I had to go to court with him in Swansea - was just going to say 'that's the man officer' when they let him go !!!

Anyway,

In Melbournes fair city
Where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Kylie Minogue
She wheeled her wheelbarrow
Round streets wide and narrow
Singing
I should be so lucky
Lucky, lucky, lucky
I should be so lucky in love

Reading, are you listening
It's a goal that we're missing
So give it a punt
To Trevor up front
Scoring in a winter wonderland

Oh yeah -

We are the boys from the Elm Park choir
Singing on a Saturday keeps us fit
We hate Bristol and the Swindon
Oxford United - are shit
Oxford United - are shit
Oxford United - are shit......

The year was 1990 and the month was merry May
The Swindon went to Wem-ber-ley
They walked the Wembley way
The thought they'd won promotion but they didn't wage a bet
On the Inland Revenue-ue-ue
Glory Glory what a horrible way to die
Glory Glory what a horrible way to die
Glory Glory what a horrible way to die
To die a Swindon B*stard
A dirty Swindon B*stard
A dirty Swindon B*stard
A dirty Swindon B*stard......

The start of 'Knees Up Mother Brown' was always a cause for concern if you were stood towards the front right of the South Bank as it inevitably meant there would be a surge down the terrace and general chaos breaking out.

The version of the Ollie Kearns song mentioned earlier had, as I recall, different words which ran 'when he gets the ball he does F*** all', which was harsh but true.

I also have a hazy memory of singing "Nellie The Elephant" which was an early 1980s one-off hit for pop-punk combo The Toy Dolls, it seemed to involve hammering on the advertising boards which skirted the base of the terrace.

Any takers on that one?

10539.4 Miles Away I'm sure there was one for Jamie Lambert about Monaco but the only only I can think of at the moment was the simple "Jamie, Jamie Lambert" (repeat to fade)

Wasn't it "OOOH JAMIE LAMBERT"?

Ooh ah, ooh ah, ooh ah, Scott Tay-lor, ooh ah, Scott Tay-lor.
