Sun Tzu
Dirk Gently I'm now less likely to renew since the free Waitrose chocolate Easter Bunny for STHs wasn't forthcoming this year.

It wasn't ?

I picked up a chocolate bunny from Waitrose on Saturday and didn't pay - I assumed we were allowed to collect them like we did last year !!

How was your afternoon in the cells mate??

Today just confirmed that if and when (more when, than if) I renew, I will have to change my seating.

If the incessant trips by the kids teams parents to the toilet and kiosks during the game isn't enough........

.....there is a (slightly) older couple who sit behind me each game..as harmless as they are........the lady shouts for a dismissal each time a Reading player is fouled and loudly scolds the ref when he has actually got things right.

If ever there is a case for "keeping wimmin out of football" she is it

You have an annoying voice too.............SHUT UP WOMAN!

Dirk Gently But because that sort of supporter is such an "ideal" that many supporters aspire to, and because the clubs and media reinforce that image, the stereotype of the die-hard supporter lives on, and we regularly have the "I'm a better supporter than you" pissing competitions here.

My response should probably be on a different thread but anyway....

You are right - You do get a lot of the "my support is better than yours debate" but universally, how do you measure one's level of support?

1. I spend more money than you - You could have been a season ticket holder for the past 10 years but some rich person or company could appear out of nowhere and buy an executive box and/or expensive corporate hospitality for the season, therefore spending more money in one go than the other person who's spent over 10 years. In addition, the person who spends the money on the box might not even be a Reading supporter - merely purchasing it to entertain business clients.

2. I've been to more games - What about younger and/or newer fans. The "hardcore supporter" who has been at Reading for 40 years, were they not a hardcore supporter 35 years ago?

3. I go to more away games - What about people who can't make away games? What about a person who travels to every away game and then stops for a few years due to family commitments and then starts up again later on?

Its a tricky concept bit like trying to define the size of a club.

It was more the "kids teams parents" comment as there are shedloads of kids in the front of B14 every week that take part in the half time shoot out every week

The ever-so empty Southstand would be a better place for them all

Joking aside.........I am totally pissed off with Mr and Mrs first time visitors sitting in my seat/blocking my view/getting hotdogs for Aunty sat six rows down four times each half

I have finally taken the plunge and decided not to renew....

A really good feeling that well over a grand is now available for other things.

I reckon that the ST sales are going badly as I have now had 2 reminders...

I may buy a ST in the future if the club stops treating fans like mugs.

Renewed x 2 and bought and additional

Pleased to have saved money on the deal !

Don't quite understand the 'mugs' bit, but agree that sales are likely to be down a bit as I suspect many of us don't have huge sums to spare.
