Holloway in the premier league.

I can't wait for the pre match and post match interviews.

Arnie_Pie Well done Blackpool. Hope they go and do a 'Reading'.

1 good season followed by relegation, a season of what might have been losing on the last day, Brendan Rodgers takes over and gets them in the relegation zone before Brian McDermott becomes their manager and they finish in the top half?

Absolutely no connection with Blackpool in any way, but I have to say I feel very, very happy they have done it!

As has been said above, hope they 'do a Reading'.

Shame about Cardiff (snigger  )

I honestly can't stand to see anyone promoted in a season when we don't. But Blackpool definitely the lesser of two evils, and they were pretty much as good as anyone we met over two games.

Stopping a team with dodgy finances getting into the top flight can only be a good thing.

Good Luck Blackpool and Ollie.

The best thing about Blackpool's win today was, for me, the fact that Cardiff have had their success this season based upon "financial doping". They had no right to be in the Premiership, their success on the pitch was due to foul play off it. We've already seen Palace stay in the Championship at Sheff Wed's expense. In my view, it's the second time they've gone into administration, they should have been relegated end of. With Pompey, Hull and Cardiff going into the next season staring down the barrel of a financial mess, please can the FL make tighter rules on financial regulations? It's been unfair on Pompey and Palace fans facing all the uncertainty on their club. It's been unfair on Sheff Wed who went down due to Palace's mismanagement. It could have been unfair on Blackpool and has probably been unfair on clubs who narrowly missed out on the play-offs due to Cardiff spunking money they didn't have away on the likes of Chopra. It must stop; it's a joke.

Excellent post. For too long teams have been getting away with it, and it's time the FL steps in and does something about it.

Agreed with rhroyal.

Risdale did the same with Leeds - made big money signings based on future qualification to the CL. When that didn't come they were oxf*rd.

Hopefully the same happens to Cardiff - the more times it happens the more likely tougher regulations come in

Cardiff not being in the Prem has also saved England's police force millions of pounds

You felt Cardiff were given time to pay back there outstanding tax bill based on them getting promotion to the Premier league. Now they haven't it will be interesting to see what happens. Delighted for Blackpool it just shows you don't have to spend millions to achieve success at this level.

I can really empathise with Cardiff fans tonight. In 1995 I left Wembley absolutely gutted, convinced that we'd missed the only chance we'd ever get to play in the Premier League. It was obvious that the team would be broken up and we'd likely struggle to repeat the feat the following season.

For different reasons, Cardiff now face the same future. Their best players will leave and their finances will be strangled. Relegation is a very definite possibility. But a win today and their future would be entirely different. Absolutely gutting.

Unlikely to happen I know, but wouldn't it be a form of poetic justice if Cardiff went bust and in the process saved Sheff Wed from relegation.

Congrats to Blackpool. Well deserved. I always enjoyed my trips to Bloomfield Road and their fans are great. One of my fondest memories of away trips was after getting an absolute tonking by us in 94, they applauded the Reading team off the field.

I think Cardiff may well be fu cked next season if they have to sell Whittingham, Ledley, Bothroyd, Chopra to survive.

And what a fu cking shit trophy as well!
