So what's wrong with that?

What this country needs is more freedom of speech and less of the liberal do-gooder pc bollocks that has permeated every aspect of our society since the excesses of Thatcher.

I don't think either of them made it through the qualifying rounds though.

I'm most definitely not a DM reader, but I don't see the problem with him asking that question.

The simple answer is: watch something else if Honduras v Chile isn't your idea of a wild night in.

Pretty sure the problem isn't him asking the question, it's how he phrased it.

Er, okay...having freedom of speech doesn't mean that those who dislike the tone of the letter - and the judgement of the Daily Mail for publishing it, thereby condoning it - should be described as liberal do-gooders. It's offensive, plain and simple.

Who's "forcing" Mr Phelps to sit through games he describes as meaningless? The problem for him and other colonial slave-masters is that some of those third-world Bongo-Bongo countries are so far playing better football than dear old master-race (and world power) England...and the little Englanders don't like it up 'em.

Try asking various African countries who's people are still suffering from the after affects of colonialism

Fooking hell, you don't half write some rubbish. I'm offended that you're tarring all English with this mentality of a master race. BTW, it was the Germans who were concerned with being the master race, not the English.

As for colonialism, the world has moved on, maybe you should too.

Er, not half as much rubbish as you're spouting.

Who's tarring "all" English with that mentality? Not me. My point is, from those few simple (in every sense of the word) sentences, that Mr Phelps appears to be very much stuck in the timewarp of colonialism which you accuse me of being mired in. If you hadn't selectively quoted just part of my post, you would then recognise the whole context, in which I postulated that Mr Phelps and others of his idiom - normally found in such enlightened circles as the BNP or Daily Mail subscription lists - DO regard themselves as a superior race and therefore place themselves above all others - using the term "master-race" wasn't copyrighted by the Germans and is not exclusive to them, BTW.
If you imply by asking me to "move on" from using the word colonialism in a discussion that you believe me to be a subscriber to that idea, you are less intelligent than I could ever possibly give you credit for.

The world has also moved on from Channel-hopping xenophobia - maybe YOU should too.
