It still has to be ratified in court- and HMRC will almost certainly challange the £24m debt to them. It is perfectly lawful for them to impose penalties of 100%- if this penalty was not taken into account for the debts, then it is still hopeful that the judge will throw out the agreement.

It takes a certain mentality I suppose to continue to support a club who steals your money.

Exactly.

Question to Portsmouth poster: Why has there been no move from the "fantastic" (sic) fanbase to reclaim the Club (a la Wimbledon and FC United) from the cheats, charlatans and crooks that have been in charge in recent years?

Or is status more important than credibility?

So, some crooks take over Reading, steel, cheat and drag your name through the mud and what do you do? Run off and go and get another club and refuse to support the communities club even though the aforementioned have no affinity to said club?

Therein lies the difference between our two levels of support.

I would look to support a Club that reflects my community, my ideals, one that I can identify with and take pride in its achievements (regardless of what level it happens to compete at)

Whereas you appear to be desperate to a support a Club which has has gained from (allegedly) near criminal individuals in order to maintain your status. (I bet PFC fans won't come out in protest if Mr Dodgy Administrator finds a Gaydamak MkII to buy the club)

I may be unambitious but I know which scenario I would be happier with.

I gather (twas before my time) that we pretty strongly resisted being taken over by one very rich, very corrupt individual name of Maxwell....

What do you think the actual difference between our two levels of support is ?

And why does the fact that you seem happy to support a corrupt regime whilst we fought tooth and nail to stop one taking over make any difference to support ?

Different situation as he wanted to merge us with Oxford thus our club would have disappeared. If he had just wanted to take us over and help us get to the top flight I doubt it would have been so feircely opposed.

The Pox?

There was a time when I thought the Cruiser was an elaborate joke character, a kind of comic satirical creation of a twisted, mad but quite brilliant mind because no-one could really be like that?

Not any more.

I was actually referring to mone and the poster's level of support.

I dont run away and find another club. Pompey is my club till the end. End of. Thats my level. He was intermating that if it doesnt turn out as you want you go and get another.

I can assure you I have been, as have 1000's of others, been protesting against the scum, lowlife, thieves.

Just cos they got into our club does NOT mean we give up on it.

If it ever happened to Reading I can assure you I would fully support your attempts to get rid of the filth but would not be on here with a holyer than thou attitude insisting that you are vermin for supporting YOUR club.

You as, Reading fans, have the right to support your club and nothing that any theives can do will or should take that away. The owners are transient, you and me the fans are permanent. Thats the Club and we have done nothing wrong.

You lot just select the bits you want dont you? Now I have proven beyond doubt the facts and figures of results, league positions and attendances its on to something else.

When Gaydamak took over his father funding the club in a Man City/ chelsea way. During that period we won the Fa Cup (again) and got to europe. It was all above board and was a "gift" to the club. What is your problem with that? and if a sugar Daddy came into Reading I guess you would all not want it.

In Oct 2008, Gaydamak was hit badly by the credit crunch and his dad insisted he stopped funding, thus shafting us completely. Since then there has been a succession of thieves that have taken more and more out of the club, including Mandaric.

So please explain the fans part in this?

Your first sentance just shows you know absolutely nothing about what has really happened. We turned when the crooks started steeling.

No, I go to every game. I support my team no matter what and then go and protest and do whatever I can to try and get these people out.

Looks like they will be gone soon anyway as there maybe some Ukrainian business man on the horizon. Hopefully they will be a little more reliable

Looks like they will be gone soon anyway as there maybe some unknown Ukrainian bloke with loads of money on the horizon to get us back where we belong. Hopefully they will be a little less obvious than the previous lot and won't clear off when Daddy needs his money back

"Your" Club has been hijacked by a series of Crooks (to paraphrase Oscar Wilde "Once is unfortunate, twice is careless") yet you as fans have been selective in your criticism - glorying in the achievements, yet gnashing your teeth and complaining of unfairness when the shit hits the fan.

Do you really think the fans of FC United, Wimbledon, Chester etc are wrong to try and recreate the Club that they grew up loving because the one that they had had been destroyed by people who had ulterior motives?

You don't get it do you !!

It was pretty sickening to hear Pompey fans claiming the rest of the world would be supporting them in the cup final. No, you got there by cheating and the fans revelled in it. There's a stench of hypocrisy coming from somewhere to the south of us.

Ah, so the next foreign businessman making loads of promises will be different. Of course.....

So you don't actually care who bankrolls the team. Ever thought of supporting a team with a sustainable business model?
