The last few times I've seen Carrick play he has been woeful at retaining possession and is more likely to give it away than Lamps...

Terry, Gerrard, Lamps and Rooney are the big names who need to turn up for this one and prove their worth...Joe Cole in there aswell, as he is the only one in the squad who is able to provide something different and a spark...may aswell go for broke...we need to win...so i'd rather see us go out fighting than the half-hearted cr@p we got against Algeria...whatever the excuse was!!!...

I've gone with Dawson on the basis he might be a bit quicker than Upson and there probably isn't a great deal of difference between them otherwise. And Dawson maybe more of one for the future so better to blood him now.

James has got one mistake in him if he plays, neither him or Green are mentally strong enough and nothing phases Hart. The rest of the team picks itself.
