Milner proved me wrong as I didn't want him in the team and spent the first ten minutes thinking he was actually almost as bad as against the USA. Then he murked me by actually being quite good.

did the same, was moaning about the previous 4 shit attempts at a cross as he set up the winner.

Can I also just add that Terry's head first dive in attempt to stop that shot is my favourite moment of the World Cup so far.

Fair play to him. As much of a you-know-what as he is, you can't fault his effort.

 Brilliant.

When he launched himself into it, it looked for all the world like he was going to 'save' it keeper style, until the arms went back. Graceful as a salmon.

And good to see Johnson has his priorities right. Terry just trying to get anything in front of the ball, Johnson protecting his vegetables.

he was double-marked most of the match - when it was 1-on-1 he got the cross over

brendywendy not really - ive not seen many games where the opposition dont create one or two half chances, at any level

Exactly. They didn't even have a chance and yet still the usual muppets complain about us "hanging on" or riding our luck. Only the Slovenian 'keeper stood between us and a big win.

tbf, Mrs Terry probably has his bollocks in a jar on her bedside table, right next to the bank account details and phone number of a locksmith.

Also, wasn't it Johnson who actually blocked the shot?

Tails
Victor Meldrew Maybe people can now see why Joe Cole doesn't get selected.
A much improved display by England and you can see how relieved they all were at the end.
Margins of success/failure are very thin and but for Upson's marvellous tackle near the end it could have been over for England.
BTW has anybody ever seen such slow and ineffective strikers? (theirs, not ours)who would make Rasiak look quick and mobile-lol at the commentators who said that we should worry about their pace!!

Gerrard led from the front and showed his great range of passing but Rooney and Lampard will have to step up a helluva lot if we are to go any further-Rooney's clear cut effort with just the goalie to beat was as bad as Heskey's effort the other day but of course HE won't get slated. .
Also I'm not sure Milner will get the room to make crosses against anybody decent but you can see why Capello likes him because although he is a limited footballer and lacks pace he is a real trier and has now cemented the right wing spot even if it turns out to be for just one more game.

So it's Sunday afternoon going through hell again while temperatures outside hit 30 degrees-can't wait.
