Winnings from yesterday's Brazil game (about £5.00) put on Chile for the first game today.

Not football but have got 7 winners in the last 3 days of Royal Ascot, including three in a row today (4, 5 and 6, after my horse in the Gold Cup came 2nd  ) so happy generally!

Football: another Ladbrokes £5 free bet goes onto Ger/Ger HT/FT, Eng/Eng HT/FT, and Slovenia drawing FT against the US. Return of around £60

Tried to withdraw the £15 that I won from the Mirror/Betfair Derby thing and it wouldn't let me - so using £10 for the 0-0 challenge and had the other £5.00 going spare.

TBF, even if it turns out that I could have taken it out then so be it - the 0-0 challenge is still on (fingers crossed!!!).

Can someone explain to me the betfair choose your own odds thing?

Brazil are at 3.8 for the cup, but if I crank it up to 5, will my bet not count?

No, there will be a massive queue in front at shorter odds, not worth it. you might get 3.7 maybe but dont leave your bets unmatched, it will stay there in running for the next game. If your not used to betfair, take the prices showing or not at all.

Well - my match betting has been woeful and I have lost a lot!

My spread betting has been good though and either 1,2 or 3k up depending on whether Spain crash out, are runners up or win it.

Rouge, are more points awarded should Spain be knocked out in the semis but win the third place play-off, or is the same regardless?

They get 50 points if beaten Semi-finalist, 75 if runner up and 100 if they win. As I bought them at 46 - on this single bet - it is the difference between being 160, 1160 or 2160 up...

Quick maths tells me you've bought them at £40 a point, so fair play to you. They've not been convincing so far but have got as far as they needed to in order for you to not be at a loss.

What was the situation you were in involving South Africa on the opening day?

I was up on South Africa, France, Ivory Coast, Paraguay (and Spain) bets
Level on Mexico
Down on Serbia

Several hairy moments - dont think I will ever be betting that big again on such a volatile market - scared the life out of me.

Eagerly awaiting the outcome of tonight's match so I can see who the Dutch need to beat to enable me to celebrate winning £120...

A friend back Muller to win the Golden Boot yesterday lunchtime at 7/1 at his local bookies. All well and good as he looked forward to collecting his £120 returns this morning. However the bookie refused to pay out as he claimed Muller ended up as joint goalscorer! The cheeky git fails to understand that as Muller has more assists than the others then has officially been crowned as the Golden Boot winner. The bookie has agreed to call main office and check with them on whether or not to pay out. Betting slip clearly states: Thomas Muller to win Golden Boot @ 7/1.

Is the bookie bang to rights?

From my experience, the price quoted would have been for the top scorer unless it was specifically stated it was for the golden boot, which I very much doubt the bookmaker in question would have given a price for. In any case, the bet would be paid out under the dead heat rule which in the case of the WC, your friend would only get a fifth of the profit because of the five top scorers all on 5 goals.

A bookie gave your mate 7/1 yesterday that Muller would be top scorer? Whether he was cleverly twisting the top scorer/golden boot wording or not I'm calling shenanigans on that. What odds were Villa and Schneider?

How about this for a bookmaker to settle. Imagine if you had an enhanced double of Villa/Spain to be top scorer/winner respectively (which was 20's at the start of the tournament). Would you expect to be paid fully as both won (although the top scorer was in a dead heat). On this kind of bet, there are no specific rules so a tough one for bookies to decide on. Amongst us in our shop we had conflicting views on whether the customer would get paid out fully or not.
