Bar 1871

by Silver Fox » 05 Jul 2010 09:29

WTF is it? I got my ST promos through on Saturday, £10 off a shirt and waitrose discount as standard but also the chance to upgrade one time for a tenner to go to Bar 1871 which appears to be a slightly rubbish hospitality area. Which end of the west stand have they not managed to sell any more? I'm guessing the North West?

Thought exactly this when I got it. Is it a box? or is it just a room? ..... hmmm

I went in there with my work during the 04/05 season and it was rubbish. Yes access to the bar but the View from the corner was terrible and god forbid you shout anything.

I shouted come on Reading and it seemed that every one in the North and West stand looked up as if to say does he not know that we sit in Silence in these stands. As for the Beer... If you like overpriced urine (Fosters) crack on

So let me get this straight - for a mere £10 I can watch the game from a shit place and also pay over the odds for shit beer?

The Oakford + my seat in the North Stand lets me do exactly the same thing for £10 less.

I thought it was against the licensing laws to be allowed to drink alcohol in view of the pitch?

On the other hand, you could get walk to the ground from town and still get served quicker than the Oakford.

It cant be as you can drink beer whilst in the seats at Rugby.

Also I cant see the hostility boxes being alcohol free somehow
