We should give the hoops a rest for a couple of seasons.

You're right, I think we'd look good in a new colour.... How about yellow?

Sun Tzu As a suggestion, you swap your allegiance to them and be happy in a shirt you like

I won't be buying a QPR shirt or a Reading one. Why wear a football shirt to games anyway? you won't get in half the pubs.

We've had some cracking blue and white hooped numbers over the years - the effort worn at the Millennium Stadium in 2001 my favourite - yet Puma have dished up some absolute dross for us in recent years. Not hard to get such a simple and classic design right is it :|

Sun Tzu I'll keep wearing my Primark polo to games and support a decent team !!

You mean you're giving up your RFC season ticket?

SLAMMED Ladies and Gentleman, I officially announce the unveiling of the Reading FC 2010/2011 Home shirt

Tad Showbiz I'm not keen on either kit. I have some issues with the home kit...

1. Why have we reverted back to a plain back? Whats wrong with hoops all the way round?
2. Looks like someone has gone crazy with some tip-ex through the blue while desiging the shirt!
3. Plain colour arms, why?
4. Blue shorts? Wrong again should be white!
5. Blue socks? Wrong should be white!

Agree with Ian Royal here the whole kit looks like it has been designed by someone while on work experience at Puma.

Away kit...

I have never liked black away kits and the red bit on the shoulders and red socks makes it look like some old Swindon away kit.

-1,000,000 for both effort and design from Puma.

I'm pretty sure there is a ruling in the football league that shirts must have a plain colour block on the back of the shirt where the printing is, so the name and number can be read more clearly. thats why last years shirt was launched with proper hoops, but early in the season, the players started wearing shoirts with plain backs

<----- like this
<----- whereas when it was launched it looked like this (and they were sold by the club like this as well, even after it was changed.

It wasn't changed, they had white backs for the TV games only.

Aful home kit, looks like we are going back to the 80's probably the worst era for shirts. Count me out.

However I like the away shirt and will be buying that.

I always buy the away shirt as I think they always look better than the home ones....except for the black and grey hoops we wore in our relegation year

Ian Royal
Fezza Really don't mind either the home or away kit. However, the keeper's kit is almost as bad as the infamous David Seaman opal fruit number.... so bad that it is in fact good.

I like the away kit, but then I was a big fan of the last black away kit. The goalie kit is truely horrific. The home just looks sloppy.

Yeah the previous away kit was one of the best and my fav's.

It only had a block of white on the back when we were live on TV.

For all other games we still had the hoops all the way around. Clearly you only watched us on TV last year then, pLOLastic.

I said that but clearly no one listened.

I saw plenty of people in the new shirt today at Farnborough, looks rubbish on the fans but looks nice on the pitch, looks like someone has been slashing at it! Away kit though is lovely, love the red on it, I will get one.

STAR have raised this several times but as Dirk has said unless there are only two possibilities you are likely to have more people choosing a losing design, and as is obvious from reading this thread we are not all of the same opinion so whose opinion is most important? I have read here that this is the best design and the worst design ever, so not much movement there to get them to agree is there?

plz post up a link to someone saying it was the best ever

well :?: :?: :?: :?:

Dirk Gently It's a product being offered for sale, not a ground-breaking piece of high art.

Get over yourselves and if you don't like it then don't buy it!

translation: if you don't like it, shut up

This ladies and gentlemen is one of your fans reps

Has anyone ever heard of them holding a focus group or anything like that on the kit?

Can't recall if the kit was on the agenda but there have definitely been focus groups held by the club about various things in the past.

I think some fan input on the kit would be a good idea, but also suspect that almost whatever was chosen would get the usual mixed reaction.

I'm not sure it's worth the fuss. It's much like the kit of any season for the last few decades - it's blue and white hoops with some mucking around. I won't buy one, because i don't ever buy the kit. It won't have any impact on how we do on the pitch, and as such I'll file it under 'better things to worry about'

STAR in incapable of actually speaking for the fans shocker

honestly, what do you lot actually do for the fans :?: :?: :?: serious question :!: :!: :!:

I don't think there'd be much objection in the following

Hoops all the way round

Red numbers (as opposed to seasons black numbering confusion)

Probably not too much objection to:

white shorts

white or hooped socks

If STAR aren't capable of expressing these basic demands to the club then what is it good for :?: and even if these aren't the basic requirements of the majority of fans then shirley its STAR's job to know :?: :?: :?:

too much of the 'not my job' attitude on the part of the enamel badge rocking brigade

Hadjuk Split's away kit for this season would make a great home kit for us. If you squint, their badge even looks like ours.
