Ian RoyalSun TzuPaul Cowin I wish him all the best, will never be a top player though......and anothet 10-15k a week of the wage bill.
Do you really think we paid him that much ?
I'd be amazed if true, but I don't know what the current going rate for Championship reserve team players is....
He wasn't signed as a championship reserve team player, so I doubt that is relevant. I could see £10k quite easily as a Prem squad player who'd taken a pay cut but been intended as a first teamer at our level.

Schards#2Royalee Coppellol - goes in search of a new start, pitches up at another club and proves he's not learnt from his mistakes by signing the same mediocre players.
Yep, he never learns from his mistakes.
He came to reading and bought up old favourites of his like Ingimarsson, Hunt and Sonko, and look where that got him.

I think you'll find Kitson and Doyle had a fairly sizeable influence on us going up...Ingimarsson, Hunt and Sonko have hardly dazzled in the last 3 years have they?
I guess we'll see how Coppell does at Bristol City this season where he doesn't inherit a playoff team with a large budget and state of the art facilities.

Royalee You aren't very good at Maths are you? What's £3.5 million minus £12 million? I don't think it's quite as big as the budget Coppell had when he took over.

When did Coppell spend £12 million at all let alone in one season??

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe Will be interesting how Coppell does at City. He doesn't have the non coaching staff he did at Reading in Hammond/McDermott to identify talent and push him in the transfer Market. Coppell's signings build the base, but if it wasn't for the signings we made in the summer before promotion that pushed us on. Coppell's not going to find the next Doyle.
Back on to Cisse, for all the talk of him at centre half, when did he last play there? I remember him being beaten in the air all the time when he played there in the Prem.

Ian Royal A squad that was far superior to the one Coppell took over, not just in talent, but in experience at that the highest level.
Although of course you could also factor in that Coppell arrived mid season when we had already spent £1.2m on Goater & Murray so had little money available for the new guy.

It was a squad that had been vastly superior but had also come to a spectacular end and seen most of the heart and key parts released or about to be sold. It needed a lot more work done to it, mentally and physically, than the one Pardew left because Pardew left us whilst he/his squad was on the up.

But as we've seen it also had a lot of young talent on the way through, something Coppell didn't really have even a hint of.
