Tried to withdraw the £15 that I won from the Mirror/Betfair Derby thing and it wouldn't let me - so using £10 for the 0-0 challenge and had the other £5.00 going spare.

TBF, even if it turns out that I could have taken it out then so be it - the 0-0 challenge is still on (fingers crossed!!!).

No, there will be a massive queue in front at shorter odds, not worth it. you might get 3.7 maybe but dont leave your bets unmatched, it will stay there in running for the next game. If your not used to betfair, take the prices showing or not at all.

Rouge, are more points awarded should Spain be knocked out in the semis but win the third place play-off, or is the same regardless?

Quick maths tells me you've bought them at £40 a point, so fair play to you. They've not been convincing so far but have got as far as they needed to in order for you to not be at a loss.

However the bookie refused to pay out as he claimed Muller ended up as joint goalscorer! From my experience, the price quoted would have been for the top scorer unless it was specifically stated it was for the golden boot, which I very much doubt the bookmaker in question would have given a price for. In any case, the bet would be paid out under the dead heat rule which in the case of the WC, your friend would only get a fifth of the profit because of the five top scorers all on 5 goals.

A bookie gave your mate 7/1 yesterday that Muller would be top scorer? Whether he was cleverly twisting the top scorer/golden boot wording or not I'm calling shenanigans on that. What odds were Villa and Schneider?

How about this for a bookmaker to settle. Imagine if you had an enhanced double of Villa/Spain to be top scorer/winner respectively (which was 20's at the start of the tournament). Would you expect to be paid fully as both won (although the top scorer was in a dead heat). On this kind of bet, there are no specific rules so a tough one for bookies to decide on. Amongst us in our shop we had conflicting views on whether the customer would get paid out fully or not.
