Is the suggestion seriously that it's easier to get things done outside of STAR rather than through it? What exactly is the point of it then?

Surely they need to evaluate what it stands for and whether they are in bed with the club rather than the fans.

I think the suggestion is that if people want to do things on a more local level, like run a new bus service from their area, STAR may not be the best forum to make it happen and local people need to make ownership and responsibility.

STAR might be able to support them in their quest

STAR has never been the 'only' way to get things done, and I doubt those who put in the effort to organise STAR activities would ever claim it was !

There is absolutley nothing to stop anyone doing stuff off their own back.

I'd agree that sometimes STAR might not be the best way to do something, but at least in STAR we have a group of people who have been around for many years and do do SOMETHING !

They are the best route we have in to the club management, and while they may not always get things changed they do get listened to and they do at least get an understanding of why things happen the way they do.

If other people reckon they can get stuff done then I say 'do it', lots of other clubs have multiple fans organisations so no reason why we couldn;t. I'd suggest it would make sense though for there to be some sort of coordination else everyone ends up trying to run a bus from Bracknell....

Glad i didn't get a season ticket, this news is absolutely disgusting. Especially announcing it so late once people have paid for season tickets on the assumption that their standard travel will be unchanged. Typical Reading, i've lo$t my faith.

Just as an update, the club are still in discussion with Reading Buses about a service from Bracknell.

really should all have been sorted one way or the other before any annoucenments were made, and articles published in last nights program. No mention was made in the program that some alternative options were being considered/looked at to replace some of the better used services

I would use the Wokers one as the Farnboro one went through Finchampstead anyway.

TBH the club should have cancelled the game until they'd arranged lifts for everyone affected

Thats not really what I am saying, I spoke to a few bracknell people last night that all said it was a shame the bus service had been dropped. If it is reinstated many of them will not find out now.

and there are two options, the one the club is looking at and the one I am looking at. The club have told me they hope to make a decision tomorrow (Thursday).

news I have this morning is that the club are still finalising details with Reading Buses about a service from Bracknell and hope to reach a successfull conclusion by end of today (was last Thursday, then friday, now Monday...)

Too late for me to organise any alternative for this week now should the discussions with Reading Buses not from fruitful
