Terminal BoardomIsaac Hunt Anyway, has Cisse gone yet? Thought he was supposed to be having a medical yesterday.
Press conference at 5.15. Apparently, we are signing Tommy Smith as well.
but is there any news on Robbie Fowler yet?

Hoop Blah What conditions does he need to be able to consistently control the ball, pass it to a team mate, make a decent effort to tackle now and again, head the ball with some conviction and technique or just keep the ball on the pitch and not shin it out of play?
What do you think was so different to McD's use of him (apart from giving him a bit of confidence) to both Coppell and Rodgers? Players often have streaky runs of form where everything clicks for them. For the better players those streaks become the norm, for those who aren't quite good enough those purple patches stick out like sore thumbs in otherwise disappointing careers (like John Mackie for example).
Just for the record, I didn't say we should get rid of him, I said that I wouldn't be too fussed if he actually left. Slight, but significant difference really.

Hoop Blah
As for you not being able to see the difference between not being fussed if he leaves and actively looking to get rid of him because I think he should go....

Barry the bird boggler So that's £1.1million in now that will go straight into filling up the £4million hole we've got. Just need to find another £3million now....

Hoop Blah I know perfectly well the type of player he is.
Furthermore I don't expect wingers to be dogged workaholics who tackle like a terrier or head the ball like a centre half. I do expect them to be able to make an effort to do either and not pull out of a challenge that's their's to make though.
Little was totally adequate in his heading and tackling, he also had better than the required ability to do the creative bits of the game that he excelled at. You very rarely saw him mis-control a ball, let alone totally miss it. He hardly ever sliced a ball out of play, got his delivery totally wrong or tackled himself trying to perform pretty much his one and only trick like Kebe does.
Little was the best winger I've seen play for Reading and I don't expect Kebe to come close to him. I do expect him to be a lot more consistent in the things he should be good at whilst also having the basic fundamentals in his locker. Partly that's just because I prefer technically proficient players, consitent performers and those that I think are willing to do their shift for the team, and partly it's because I don't think Kebe is good enough to do his thing consistently.

I think the appropriate internet phrase is meh!

Remember we save their wages as well so if they were on £10k each then that's a saving of about £1million too. (Not including taxes)

Ian Royal I'd pretty much agree with everything you said there. But with a slightly more hopeful outlook on whether he can perform.
I don't think he'll be a huge loss next season when it seems he'll inevitably be off. I too don't think h will keep up to the form of teh end of last season. But I do think he does offer us something useful and will produce goals even if he can't match that level of quality.
It will just be horrendus to watch him fluff up again and again and again. Because he'll always create chances and run at players.

Ian Royal I saw him thanks. He was fantastic. The point being the doubt whether he can refind or maintain that form.
There is a difference in rating someone at £2m and thinking we should refuse to sell him for less than that. And I've also said that McAnuff would be replaceable.
