Car Parking

by Ian » 13 Jul 2010 22:20

Anyone know if the former Whitbread distribution depot in Acre Rd will be open this season? Opened unofficially last year but closed when someone rated on the enterprising folk running it. At the time someone said that they were going to try and reopen it officially. Any news

It's still up on the RFC site, updated earlier this month... not that that means it'll still be open come the first game of the season.

I wouldn't think so, it's all been totalled, so unless they just open up the building site, i'm guessing not

Most of it is flat, hard standing though and was used for parking up to the end of last season.
I'd guess much depends on the plans for the site, and how much the owners want for use of it.

Hope it's open as I often park there and the buses won't be running through Sandhurst and Crowthorne (amongst other places) anymore according to this:

It's in the same state it was at the end of last season with a large area totally flat that wasused for parking on. All it needs is a few security men and the relevant insurance (plus lighting in winter) and it is good to use.

oh for christs sake!!!

they couyld have just charged more.
if the carparks are 8 quid, and you use petrol to get there surely they could have charged 8 quid for the busses and still been cheaper, plus easier and quicker.

and that rubbish about low numbers, there were always plently of people on mine, and ther others seemed pretty packed after the games too

its an outrage

Oh FFS - how long does it take RBC to move the feckers on. As soon as they know they're there, they should move them on shirley?

You can't make this up. First the club pull the plug on out of town buses and now one of the best car parks is invaded by Stephen Hunt. Just how do the club expect the supporters to get to the game next Saturday?

Private land, feck all to do with the council. I guess the truck that moves the blocks might move the caravans easy enough.

I know A bit of green space at the junction of Mill lane and Toselanmd they could move to if that helps???

They are parked on the entrance road outside the gates therefore I would assume it is the councils problem.

I would put money that it is not, it is an access road from the council maintained highway, just because they did not block it off at the proper place will make no difference.
