andrew1957 I am not sure that is strong enough to beat a reasonable side away from home so not really expecting Reading to win. Obviously hope they prove me wrong.

So you don't expect a below strength Reading to beat a team two divisions below us? This isn't the andrew1957 we know and, erm, know. Welcome to the real world andrew. Remember when you started crowing about us avoiding relegation fom the Prem about 3 weeks before we actually went down ?

andrew1957 I think it is more the fact that we have at least 8 players on international duty at the same time as playing in the cup. Ridiculous planning by the football authorities and I suspect there will be quite a few larger teams going out as a result - although we are probably one of the worst affected by international call ups. I think if we win we will have done very well as everything is against us for this tie with so many players away or injured - so to me Torquay are favourites for this one.

I absolutely agree about the disgraceful timing of this fixture alongside a needless international friendly, particularly so soon after a World Cup which bored us all to tears. That said, we are 2 divisions above Torquay with infinitely more resources and in no way should they be favourites to beat Reading, that is pre-match excuse-making spin at its best!
