What planet are you on...the fact that part of a wall collapsed and there were fans involved is a serious enough incident...I would like to think that most people who attend football matches do so in the knowledge that there surroundings are safe and fit for purpose...the wall last night clearly wasn't...and yes I was there...

Incidents such as this, as minor as you may think they are, need to be reported in the correct way to ensure that football grounds are safe places to go to...and maybe some of the millions of pounds which exists in the higher echelons of football could be filtered down to the lower leagues to ensure that necessary improvements are carried out to make grounds safe...

Indeed they didn't - but imagine if a kid had been up right at the front.

And actually no-one is making a big deal about it, just trying to ascertain just how serious it is in an objective and methodical way.

But the whole mindset of "it's no big deal, let's not worry about it" is what eventually led to Hillsborough.

surely fans were not at the wall, they were behind metal barriers, with a pathway behind the wall, after we scored I assume there was a surge forward, to the clear area, defined by a breeze bock wall, ps we left after 90 mins as was pure tedium.

Did they get the Pikey's in to make this wall, Where is the cement in between the blocks?
They must have used superglue.
If you look at the blocks to the left, there is none on the wall or underside of the blocks that have broken free.

Well no not really, there have been cases previous to this where similar walls have collapsed in similar circumstances and people have ended up with broken limbs. I remember an FA Cup tie at a non-league ground in the early-mid 90's where this happened. With less luck the same could have happened on Wednesday. It's not about the fact a wall collapsed and a few people got cuts and bruises, it's about preventing similar things happening with worse outcomes (and the fact that a safety certificate clearly shouldn't have been issued due to the insufficient structure). Sorry Affers, but you're blowing out of your arse with this one.
