You have to remember though that Bellamy is a Cardiff fan and may be willing to drop his wage demands as I doubt he needs the money.

Anyway all that has been confirmed so far is that he is training with them. Whether he signs for them is another thing.

Apart from the fact they haven't, it's just a different gambler at the head of the table. Albeit one who has paid their tax bill, for now.

THe beeb don't normally publish rumours and their article clearly says that "Manchester City HAVE given permission". Oh well......

Ah yes but where have they got quotes from either club confirming this ;) that's the trick. But I do generally agree the beeb don't publish rumours, in this case they've grabbed it straight from the papers who are claiming it as fact.... Still, I'll trust the people who've spoken to the manager over anything else :D

If Bellamy is going to go out on loan to Cardiff I'd expect Man City to be covering a propoertion of his wages (if they can't offload him elsewhere on a perm deal and he's not even going to be in their 25 man squad that is).

They'd not be willing to do that for a Premiership rival like Spurs though as they'd basically be bank rolling their direct competition.

There's a certain amount of "hmmmm" about City not wanting to put him in the 25 man squad but equally being fussy about who they sell him to.

I am 90 % sure there's a potential legal case there (restraint of trade?).

So would I. My trust in the BBC not publishing rumours has been blown apart.

What a crazy situation - ManCity are so flush with cash that they'd prefer to loan him out to a Championship side and presumably pay a large proportion of his wages than sell him to a rival club for several million £; it's particular weird as either they rate him (which means he should be in their squad) or they don't (and so why should they care about selling him to a rival). Makes Mancini whinging about other clubs charging them double or triple the value of players even more laughable ...

Nice one Wimb. Fine Rain will of course have an answer but it won't make much sense.

Of course I will, but I still have questions that I want answered. Why can clubs like Ipswich, Barnsley, Forest, etc All manage to invest in their playing squads( whilst staying afloat) without the massive income we've had in comparison from player sales as well as the prem money in the last few years, when two of the above clubs were in league one around the same time. How can they manage sensible investment...yet we can't even bring someone in on loan. You can butter things up as much as you like, we are weak on the pitch because of lack of investment. No one is asking for multi million pound signings, but having to play a centre mid and an unproven academy player at centre back....terrible management of the club.
How can we not even afford loanees?

Don't forget that those clubs have not had the expense of a new stadium to deal with.

Why, he's still under contract so still getting paid whether he plays or not.

Ipswich have probably spent more developing Portman Road than the Madejski cost in the first place.

Oakwell is probably a similar story considering they've rebuilt all but one stand over the last 15 years or so.

The Welsh club, who have survived two separate winding-up orders from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs this summer, have estimated debts between £15m-£30m that their new Malaysian major shareholders are bidding to restructure.

Or by not really coming out of financial dissaray and continuing to spend money they haven't got they appear to be in a stronger financial position but at what cost in the future?

I look forward to the mythical D-Day where 91 clubs go bankrupt and Reading are crowned Premier League champions by default. The same day that Compo gets a round in and Kingsley is unmasked as Steve Fossett.

its called preperation for the inevitable.. we all know money bags will jump at the first reasonable offer for any of our players. Brians forced to say hes happy with the reserves in an attempt to convince us we will cope when theyre sold.

its all just spin no point in reading the OS anymore.
