Think what this will do to the players mentality aswell. They can see that rather than building we are going backwards. Quality players like Mills/Mcanuff wont wanna be at a club going backwards and it would be a matter of time before we lose them aswell.

I have just spoken to a close friend who has close links to the club who has been right on things like this before. They have said this is true and gylfi has been given permission by Reading to talk to them and the iceland camp have given permission to link up with them on tuesday or wednesday depending on when the deal goes through.

The fee is around 4 million. The player has not been looking for a move away from the club and has turned down chances to leave all through the summer so this was a club decision not a player decision.

The two parties are yet to discuss wages etc, but assuming this is all done properly it should go through on tuesday.

In terms of replacements the names he suggested the club are looking at are not that exciting and will probably be a loan as they did not forsee him leaving.

"Kicker" magazine in Germany are allegedly reporting he has agreed terms.

paultheroyal Google Hoffenheim and Gylfi, and it's spreading like wild fire!

I reckon he's in bed and hasn't heard anything about this yet.

well we all might as well pack our bags and go home. If gylfi does leave then Madejski will be one of the least like men in the game currently. If he lets Gylfi go just to fill up his pockets then i will be hoping for a protest at the palace game.

Doubt the whole thing is a rumour, but I'd imagine personal terms already being agreed is.

If he's already turned down moves this summer (apparently) I doubt he'd move on now. Fingers crossed it'll all fall through on 'personal terms'.

Love to believe that slammed, but so many Internet stories about it now worldwide, other fans saying they are in the know and also original posters track record!

But like you said and it brought a smile, let's hope Gylfi is in bed in Berkshire none the wiser!!

This is so gutting if true. It was pretty clear to everyone he was enjoying his football here & wasn't trying to get a move.

I'll try and stay optimistic, but it does seem to be gathering pace around the internet. This really could spell the end of our season.

Madejski has got to be behind this, probably desperately trying to push the deal through.

If he goes, i doubt we can get anyone in. I bet we will switch to 4-4-2 with Long and Church upfront

Would be interesting to see the reaction against Crystal palace in a few weeks. Gutted I wont be there to vent my anger. Will someone boo twice as hard just for me?

This is going to have a really negative impact on the club all round. If the figure of £4m is correct, JM probably thinks "fook the fans £4m is more money than the season ticket sales I get". God knows what the team will look like in 2012.

Starting to wonder what is so wrong with the Cardiff or Pompey business model!

Earliest Gylfi probably knew of this as travelling back on team bus last night. So in 24 hours he is out in Germany! Maybe he gets bad vibes, can't agree terms and engineers a move to Fulham come Tuesday afternoon!
