Didn't notice a real difference between the two tbpf, however the season is young and time will tell who's the better left back. Think Williams will be a better attacking option but his defending as far as I've seen has been ropey.

Cummings had one of his better games yesterday. Pearce is also growing on me amazingly

First 20-30 minutes he was given a torrid time by Dyer, simply rinsed for pace on more than one occasion. As the game wore on though he seemed to get much much better. Fair play, there is absolutely no doubt that he must have been nervous at kick off given the up until then complete lack of faith McDermott has shown him, and to come up with the not perfect performance, but certainly not anywhere near as bad as many thought he would be, takes a fair amount of balls.

Griffin got a seeing to once last season, otherwise griffin handled him well. Cummings on the other hand, got roasted three or four times in the first half hour on Saturday.

Cummings grew into the game, by the end he was doing as well as anyone would do against that kind of pace.

He only had one bad game last season against West Brom when he was outclassed by Jerome Thomas but other than that he was alright under Rodgers when he played. He was on loan at West Brom and had a contract with Chelsea so he must have some ability and potential as a player. He is still only young and can improve and develop, and he captains the reserve sides, so I think if given the chance to play Cummings could become a good player as he showed against Leicester.

Finally managed to watch the game having Sky+ it.

I thought Cummings did ok considering it was his first full first team game since last November. I'm sure even the longest serving professional footballer would take a while to settle back into his first full game for ages.

Yes Dyer gave him a torrid time but at least Cummings tracked back and there was the moment he nicked the ball off Dyer in the penalty when he had been beaten for pace. Well impressed with him playing simple balls to his nearest team mate which gave the opportunity to build attacks. Ok he's not the most attacking of full backs but Reading have been spoiled over the years with these so nice to have a defensive defender for a change. I'm sure more games with increased confidence will see him attacking more.

Overall 7/10 for the Leicester game and with a run in the team he'll turn 7/10 into 8/10 soon
