Gylfi Sigurdsson(Out)/Matty Fryatt(In)

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Reading-transfer-news-Royals-star-Gylfi-Sigurdsson-shock-target-for-German-club-Hoffenheim-article567933.html

Reading midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is a shock £4.25million target for German giants Hoffenheim. Sigurdsson is heading for a surprise exit from the Royals after Hoffenheim stepped up their interest over the weekend.

The Iceland international only agreed a new three-year deal with Reading in May after scoring 21 goals in all competitions last season.

But Hoffenheim - the current joint leaders in the Bundesliga - are ready to table a bid on Monday and expect to recruit the midfielder in the next 24 hours.

Reading could use the cash to fund a £1m move for Leicester striker Matty Fryatt, who is surplus to requirements under new boss Paulo Sousa.

What a load of crap. Leicester fan's favourite Matty Fryatt joining Reading... honestly the twaddle that papers print, mind you it is the Mirror so that about says it all.

Widely reported to be one of the first teamers that Sousa confirmed had handed in transfer requests after the game on Saturday, so maybe not too ridiculous. Wellens and Gallacher are suspected to be the other two although I've seen rumours about Hobbs too who would be a good player to look at if we suddenly had funds from Gylfi leaving.

Fryatt would make Paul Brayson look gifted. No thanks.

Fryatt is a better option up front than what we have currently, but no replacement for Sigurdsson.

FWIW he wouldn't be seen as a replacement for Sigurdsson, we would switch from 4-2-3-1 to a straight 4-4-2 as we don't have another player capable of playing in the hole.

Would you really play Davies over Hunt, Church or potentially Fryatt?

If sticking to a 4-2-3-1 formation, then yes

You've missed my point, which was, why would you stick to 4-2-3-1 without Sig if it meant having to play Davies rather than any of those mentioned. For what its worth I think Antonio would be a far better candidate in 'the hole'.

Several prominent BBC journalists are claiming Waghorn is on the verge of returning to Leicester permanently for £1.5 million which may or may not add weight to the Fryatt rumour. Or could just mean that Blackpool have met their valuation for DJ Campbell, can't see them selling both Campbell and Fryatt, and only having Howard as a striking option (especially not after the way he played Saturday!)

Waiting for the short sighted chairman to come out with a statement like " This transfer is good for the club, as it not only closes the debt gap and allows us to bank this transfer fee, but more importantly it gives Hal Robson Kanu the opportunity to show his true potential in the team"

Theres more chance of him wearing a wig than there being any decent signing to replace Sigurdsson

Fryatt is not worth £1m imo

Spend the money on zurab and wait until end of transfer window to get a prem player on loan
