Terminal Boardom As for his first touch...

Sig's first touch vs Shane Long's first touch. Discuss.

Shane Long's first touch is his seventh.

To quote someone, Shane Long has the touch of a rapist.

What is the point in selling Sigi for £10 or £15million. It just means the Madman will cream off more money from RFC coffers. Real Facts Real World.

Probably be an announcement by 9.30am that RFC do not plan to bring any new players in but possibly a further one or two could be leaving.

Might get an old fart on loan. Donut was watching Port Vale of Division 2 fame the other night. The Madman will not have cleared the cheque so the transfewr deadline will be missed. Plus the usual bollocks about no one being available who could improve the squad.

Good night folkssssssssss

FiNeRaIn Premiership stable? Are you retarded? There is nothing stable about portsmouth, man city, liverpool, west ham's,etc antics over the last few years.

The German domestic league is weak? Once again...what are you talking about? How many teams did they have in the champs league final last season compared to ours? Bayern knocked out our champions. End of story. Their attendances are also higher. Borussia Dortmund get bigger crowds than Man United and have done nothing for a decade. You really need to do some reading up before you continue spouting nonsense. Last part of your argument is also rubbish, if English players were good enough they would start instead of Foreigners, they aren't and they don't...blame the STABILITY of the English leagues.

They were lucky to knock United out just as they were lucky against Fiorentina in the round before in fact, they were hardly ever in front in those two ties and had to rely on late goals to go through.

Oh and Bundesliga attendances are higher because their tickets are dirt cheap (lucky sods).

Other than that spot on.

So the premiership is not a stable league?????

I obviously just rate him more highly than you do. There were rumours earlier today that Liverpool had been watching him - now thats more of the level I believe he should be aiming for. Not a mid table german team that (and im sorry if my knowledge of german football is not up to scratch) I and many others havent heard of.

And the arguement you put forward regarding the national team makes no sense at all.

German national team is strong because their domestic league is weak and doesnt attract the best players in the world and they have mainly home grown players. The premiership is the best domestic league in the world and attracts the best players from around the world, unfortunately this means our national team is weak as the english players dont get a game.

+1

The Little Englander mentality in this thread is pathetic. I believe that one of the main aims of The Greatest League In The World (Copyright Sky) was to strengthen the national team. How did that go then? The Premier League is now just a flashier version of the Scottish Premier that is heading for financial armageddon. Good luck to Sig for recognizing that there is almost certainly a better career path for him in the Bundesliga than wallowing in the stiffs of a 'top, top' English club. He will be playing in a more competitive league.

So what you are saying is that the bundesliga is stronger than the premiership? If players like drogba, Torres, ronaldo went to play in that league, would they be kept out of the team by germans? Don't think so.

Ahhh... Wages. The reason we're ALL in this mess in the first place....

Bundesliga = Correctly run sytem, built to run on fail safe
PROFLemieROFL LOLeague & The Football League = No system at all i'm afraid.

Yes, sometimes the game might look better on TV, but christ, most of the Prem is over paid average nonsense. I'd watch any of the foreign leagues at any point if they were on TV regularly...

Ahhh, TV, the REAL reason we're ALL in this mess...

I hope this contract underpins our determination to progress in the forthcoming season and that it inspires fans to keep up their fantastic support

So said the daft old coot when The Sig signed his new contract with us not so long ago.

For the grace of God, GO!

Only terrace tickets are dirt cheap. Seats are considerably more expensive, nearly at English prices.

Crowds in the premiership, av 34000. Bundesliga 42500, but people will still tell you the premiership is the best league in the world. It's not. It's merely the richest.

Jonny Fordham has just tweeted that he expects tomorrow to heat up some more.
Being Reading this will only be for the worse, not that new players will be coming in.
