Royal Lady I'd be surprised if there was anyone at the training ground today, given that half the team have been called up for internationals.
Hunt tweeted he was at training today.

Royal Lady Presume Hunt's not been called up by ROI. I thought Robson-Kanu was in some U21 team?
Maybe they don't meet up with their fellow internationals until today or tomorrow then?

So we don't have to buy him when his deal runs out at BR, I'd imagine.

Arch I wouldn't expect anything to change on the Zurab front. The issue (I would guess) is not that we couldn't pay him but that we wouldn't. Having money coming in from player(s) sold won't change that. Griffin was sanctioned but Zurab was not? I'd guess JM balked at paying Blackburn's seventh choice CB enough money to keep him in his Bentley.

brendywendyspecialjon I'm confused, you where gloating over something far to early and over something that clearly isn't true after mc d coming out AGAIN and saying we aren't going to bring anyone in.
obviously easily confused. i said "IF TRUE" and since you seem to think it isnt true, you may therefore disregard the rest of the sentence.
and i would suggest you look at our press releases during every transfer window for as long as i remember when we have come out and said we are happy with what weve got, we have no money. and then still go on to bring new people in.which goes to show that the statements mean nothing.
but if it makes you feel any better gloat away

andrew1957PorkyRfc Good shout scarface!
It does seem odd that Blackburn are touting him so openly and with only three centre backs we aren't taking the bait.
You have to presume that Blackburn are desperate to get rid of his wages (£15k at a complete guess) and we cannot offer more than say £7.5k (again, at a complete guess) therefore Scarface is probably spot on that a compromise of sharing the wages half and half on a seaon long loan might happen on deadline day if nothing else has happened.
I suppose the only other option is that Zurab wants first team football and we offer him lower wages (£7.5k or whatever) but over a two or three year contract because he is still only 28!?
You are right except for the last bit. Why would Zurab take a 2-3 year contract on a much lower wage when he can take £15K a week for the next year and then go on a free and get £7.5K for the next 2-3 years after that.
I agree that the most likely outcome is that we will get him on a season long loan on deadline day as long as no one else gives Blackburn a better deal before then. I think that is why Brian is saying he is happy with what he has got - as RFC are (rightly IMO) prepared to pay the waiting game. I suspect that we will have other possible loan signings lined up in case the Khiz one does not happen - as I very much doubt we will risk not signing another CB.
