andrew1957 Well I for one am still fuming about this.

some of you seem to think £6M is a good fee but you are bonkers IMO. Siggy was the one truly PL class player that we have in the squad. The sort of player that will most likely go for £20M plus sooner or later.

This is on a par with people claiming a couple of years back that Bikey would be one of the best defenders in the world within a few years. £6m puts him on a par with Doyle, which isn't bad considering the latter had a proven pedigree as a goalscorer in the PL and at international level.

andrew1957 Frankly I am so angry that I almost hope we get relegated - that to me is what the owner and senior management deserve. We have League 1 management so may as well be a League 1 team.

Can't really argue with the fee - its the use of funds which I have a problem with as we sure as hell know fvck all of thats going on the team.

Clockwatcher If you look at the next game he could be involved with it is against Schalke on Friday night the 10th.

If it was you in the same position would you honestly say " No Sod it I'd rather stay and play against Crystal Palace??"

Well, Schalke have never played in the PL, unlike Palace, so Palace must be the bigger team. Right?

Yeah, if nothing much happens in the way of squad strengthening then Andrew1957 will be more than justified in ALMOST hoping we get relegated - almost being the key word in that statement I believe...

And to cap it all it is actually £4.5 million!! We have only got £5M according to the EP and there is a 10% sell on fee to his old club so that is another 500K down the tubes.

Sir John is obviously absolutely desperate for cash.

And Fryatt is no better than we have already. Church and Long are arguably better players and Long at least is proven at a higher level. Fryatt would be a complete waste of moeny IMO. If we had got Pittman I would have been less unhappy - he has potential and is a tall target man - not just another 5 foot 10 inch player like we have already.

Why the clamour for the site to be updated with a news article to tell us what is already confirmed?

I am currently taking no further update as good news that the club are spending the day trying to bring players in and will update in due course.

Focher
Royal Lady
Focher this paves the way for the grand reopening of OAE
:| I'll give a new OAE 2 weeks before it's shut down by TVP!!

With careful and considered moderation by myself and General B, a new OAE could be the future of East Berkshire and North Hampshire debate for many years to come.

I would like to personally guarantee that under a Focher/GB administration, Britain's breeziest message board would be reduced to three, maybe four threads a week. And hardly any of them would be pedalo related.

The club did exactly the same thing end of the window last year iirc.

They didn't report anything until the end of the window.

What exactly did Long prove at Premiership level?

Agreed on the assessment of Fryatt, we already have similar players and should go for someone who can be a game changer for us

Fryatt would be a decent addition.

His record might not set the world alight but he is a different type of player to our current set of forwards, and that's what we need to bring in.
