On some of the Carlisle forums it was suggested that he did not actually sign which was one of the reasons they sold him to get the money now rather than leave for nothing later. Not the first time Sky may have got things wrong but I an not going to bother to research who is right.

I'd back what the manager said to the BBC and Sky rather than some mongs on a forum like this one:

"Ian has been fantastic for us since he signed and I am delighted that this is now done and dusted.

I will reserve judgement on him as well. Been around a long time, got a great left stick and he was a really good player at Leeds. I was surprised to learn that he was 33. Thought he would be older than that.

Apropos nothing, why is AE locked and what is the fuc king password?

Great goal:

Carlisle's stadium is a bit naff, though.

Leeds supporting former colleague With Ian Harte in defence I would be scared if I was you. Had the pace of a snail and couldn't defend properly even in our Champions League run all those years ago.

Gr8  . A massive  :| at those of you heralding this arrival as a guarantee of nearly 20 goals. 20 goals against, maybe.

 There is not a hope in hell Harte will score 20 goals for us this season....more like 3 or 4.

But look at some of those goals he scored in the Champions League 10 years ago, maaaaan  .

As long as our support continues to be mainly made up of jester hat wearing spackers who are somehow hugely impressed whenever we sign someone they have heard of, we'll continue to get ripped off with third rate signings.

I don't disagree, Floyd (what do I know?), but I think I'd be hard pressed to find a signing you'd like.

Put it this way, I am not automatically thrilled about us signing a player who has Champions League experience. We could have bought Clayton Blackmore to play left back in that case.

TBH Floyd I think most of us are just excited at the prospect of not having to watch Marcus Williams play.

Williams is all right. He's no Roberto Carlos but he'll do a job.

Ian Harte does play CB now so he's not necessarily come in as a LB.

So, when all are fit and available the pecking order for CB will be...

Mills
Khiz
Harte
Ingi
Pearce

Judging by the negativity around here, Williams is becoming the new Cummings. Have to admit I haven't seen much of him (Forest game only) but didn't think he was that bad. I think too many people around here are too quick to slate newcomers if they don't turn out to be immediate successes.

Maybe Williams could learn a thing or two from Harte's experience.

Two birds with one stone - Harte bashers happy that he has a role, Williams bashers happy that he will improve. :)

Agree.

He's not rubbish.

We can't knock him just because he's not Bertrand/old-Shorey etc.

He' here to do a job and he's not awful at it.

To be fair it's not bad.

Mills and Harte should be scaring the pants off defences as they are both big lads who can score.

That'll free up our strikers for sure.

If we get any that is.
