Very droll. And how highly regarded were Crewe back in the 80s and 90s? They had plenty of players who went on to bigger and better things. Dario Gradi worked miracles at Gresty Road. You remember Rob Jones? Neil Lennon? Craig Hignett? Hugh Cheetham?

Dont forget David Platt

Just stating that yes they may have been highly regarded back in the 80s and 90s but what good has it done them.....

ESPN Sports (Sky Channel 417) are having 3 days of freeview starting on Friday morning as an incentive to attract new subscribers. I'm not sure whether this applies to Virgin Media customers also but its worth checking out.

Anyway, here's the best of what's coming this weekend with 3 matches each from Serie A and the German Bundesliga and also a Scottish Premier League match featuring reigning champions Rangers:

LIVE FOOTBALL MATCHES:

Scottish Premier League: Hamilton v Rangers

German Bundesliga: TSG Hoffenheim v Schalke 04
German Bundesliga: Bayern Munich v Werder Bremen
German Bundesliga: FC Koln v St Pauli

Italian Serie A: Cesena v AC Milan
Italian Serie A: Brescia v Palermo
Italian Serie A: Napoli v Bari

US Major Soccer League: Seattle v Salt Lake
US Major Soccer League: LA Galaxy v Columbus Crew

RUGBY UNION

Rugby Union Aviva Premiership - Leicester Tigers v Exeter
Rugby Union Aviva Premiership - Saracens v Sale

OTHER

NCAA College Football
DTM 2010 German Touring Car Championship Season Review
French Rugby League - Bayonne v Clermont
French Rugby League - Biarritz v Toulouse
UFC Unleashed
FIBA World Championship
NHRA Drag Racing

Coverage starts at 6am on Friday morning and lasts right through until 6am on Monday morning giving you 72 hours of free sports. Unfortunately no English Premier League matches which is probably why ESPN have decided to do it this weekend.

The one good thing was that we don't have to watch him every week on MOTD in a Wolves shirt.
