Barnsley prediction thread

by floyd__streete » 22 Sep 2010 20:23

Reading 1 (not a striker from open play) - Barnsley is Basingstoke 2.

This promises to be an absolute stonker doesn't it, probable first sub-15,000 crowd of the season too. I am going to have a punt on Adam Hammill first scorer. Tbf, I think Mark Hammill would probably be a match for dear old Alex Pearce.

PEARCEY 2-0 home win. Hunt 55,Church 78.

Surely that would be 133-0?

Personally, I think it will be slightly tighter.

The mighty men from Berkshire will bounce back and win 3-1. People will score, people will watch.

Agreed.

I think 133-0 is being a bit optimistic.

Football matches tend not to score that highly, Kebe or no Kebe.

1-1

Reading scorer: Not a striker (prob Mills from a corner)
Barnsley scorer: Dickie Bird from an excellent defence splitting Michael Parkinson pass

The usual huff and puff without any sort of a goal threat.

The usual reaction on here.

TBF being a Reading fan is becoming predictable, despite the claims that "Lightning Can Strike Twice"

Reading 0 Barnsley 7. The whole Reading team are then sent down a Chilean Mine for 4 months to find out what its like to put in a proper shift.

0-0. There will be several shots across the open face of the goal, none of which will be scored because everyone's at the far post and nobody in the middle.

I did think of leaving you to be poached in your own effluent, but I also wanted the "look-at-me" satisfaction of having predicted you were wrong... again.

I think it was 81? I remeber seeing a picture of Parky in the Ep on the Monday. And the Barnsley players on the national news going down the pit.

Barnsley League

A L 0-4 QPR
H W 1-0 Crystal Palace
A D 3-3 Bristol City
H W 2-0 Middlesbrough
A L 1-2 Norwich City
H W 5-2 Leeds United
H D 1-1 Derby County

Losing at QPR is no big surprise, and since then their results look solid.

No idea if we are bringing in Armstrong into midfield and staying 4-5-1
or promoting Antonio into the Sig position... or whether we go 4-4-2

but we'll have to play well to win this one
