It is being reported that RBS are willing to waive £110 million in penalty fees personally guaranteed by Hicks and Gillett if the sale goes through which would enable RBS to recover their principle debt. If Hicks and Gillett block the sale and cannot come up with the money by the deadline then RBS will hit Hicks and Gillett with these penalty fees. So Administration will have a massive personal cost to the owners.

Can we add RBS to the extensive Scouser boycott/protest list.

I'd imagine there will be literally tens of pounds withdrawn in protest

I realise it's all terribly boring and it is meant in jest (EPIC banter etc)...in real life I treat scousers as if they are equal.

I'm from the City of Salford and have lived in other area's of Manchester before i moved to the beautiful south (Buckinghamshire)

not everyone thinks Liverpool are the best football team in the world, nor Liverpool fans the greatest people/most knowledgeable fans in the world.

Just accept that a lot people don't care about LFC in the same arse licking way the media does. I remember a number of interminably dull 1-0 European victories and the overuse of the backpass rule so don't get me f*cking started on the "glory days".

By all means dislike Liverpool but try to come up with a 'joke' that's 1. funny; 2. new; 3. relevant.

Just how many European games did you manage to watch back in the early 80's? Must have required a bit of effort on your part?

Kuyt and Agger out injured after tonight as well; Kuyt's injury (did his ankle) looked particularly painful.

What I don't understand about the whole Liverpool thing is, Hicks & Gillette gave Benitez money - it was Benitez who pi$$ed it away (£20M on Aquilani anyone??); yet Benitez is seen by Liverpool fans as a demi god.

They still him for that Champions League win and the very good start to his time at Liverpool. I think he got very lucky with the ownership issues clouding how badly he was running things over the last couple of seasons, or at least last season.

He lost the plot and spent huge amounts of money on players that just weren't up to it.
