I'm convinced something is not right with that ankle. Regardless of prostitutes, affairs and marriage problems, on the most basic level he hasn't been the same player since he did his ligaments and came back too quickly in March / April last year.

I was in Manchester last week, and the taxi driver (this was before him being on the bench yesterday btw) said that he is going the same way as other previous players who Fergie thinks have got too big for their boots (Stam, Beckham, Ronaldo), and so will be shipped out in the Summer.

you would have thought that with the wage structure at old trafford there would be no need for players to moonlight as taxi drivers.

If he leaves MU I wonder where he'll go. Can't imagine he'd pick up a language too easily - mind you, he does have a natural thick tongue lisp to help him with Spanish I suppose.

I can't see much beyond Spurs, Everton or Celtic, none of whom could afford him

He'd be totally lost abroad so you wonder who'd break the bank to take him within the UK. They'd also have to be a club United would sell to.

Selling to anyone* > having a disruptive and demotivated scouser that'll leave as a free agent at the end of next season.

*even Citeh

Talk of £300,000 per week for Rooney if he moves to Citeh.

tbh i can see City putting in a cheeky £100m+ offer but as you say Utd wouldn't sell to them

I can see Real getting him and i dont think he would be lost there.....they are a team full of bertie big bollocks

Worse comes to worst, he's out of contract end of next season so could just hang on in there and take his pick.

To all those dismissing Rooney stories, there are some nice long odds on him being at MUFC in Aug if you're willing to back your judgement

All players go through a bad patch. He was good last season and this season is only 3 months old.

He was shocking at the world cup but then so was almost every England player.

He doesn't fancy a challenge like he used to.

I agree with the first poster who thinks there's something physically wrong.

Plus he's mentally shattered by the maritals and coming out the wrong side PR-wise and prob money-wise on that front.

Rooney and Torres. Not so long ago both were unplayable at times. Similarities in both, get injured, cant perform to very high expectations, weight on shoulders becomes too much, confidence plummits....
