FA Cup Proper

May I be the first to make the observation that AFC Wimbledon are in the same hat today as MK Dons?

SuperMarine or Bath vs Eastwood Town - home draw, but a bit dull. Still, door open to the second round if we don't slip up.

Don't know how many matches are being televised live this season but Southport v Sheffield Wednesday will be one of them. I wouldn't be surprised if they still go for Southampton even though it isn't a very exciting draw at home to Shrewsbury. ITV do seem to like to look for a giant killing and if they go that route maybe Fleetwood v Walsall.

Could be a tasty Kent derby at Gillingham if Dover beat Farnborough.

Not this round.

I'm probably in a minority of one, but I'd love to see MK v Wimbledon in the next round. Wimbledon take thousands up there for their day of revenge....and get lumped something like 6-0. It'd be cruel, but really funny.

... only an 'Anorak's Gripe' really but (unsurprisingly) shabby reporting from the Beeb - just mentioned the FA Cup 1st Round on FiveLive and 'namechecked' Hythe Town as the lowest ranked club in the draw.

- now admittedly I know now't about northern NL so there might be a couple there - but I do know that Leiston from the Eastern Counties are also from STEP05.

... then again they do have to get past Dartford in a replay before they get the chance to host 'Port Fail'. 8)

... oh and FCUM bt Barrow 1-0 this PM to visit Rochdale.

If they get through to the Second Round and get a good home draw it would be ironic if the Metropolitan Police objected to them staging the tie.

Hereford v Hythe could be televised as Hythe are the lowliest team left in.

They should get regular fans to police the game. We'll search the police as they go in; I'm assuming most of their fan base are policemen or their familes but could be wrong. After the match we'll make them wait behind for half hour.
