Was involved in the incident in that pub in Oxford when we played them in the cup a few years back.

Oh and once at St Andrews in the FA cup, after Hunt equalised with a pen, I celebrated so much, i made a Brum fan fall over.

Someone put their hands round my throat when I confronted him and his companion (son?) about queue jumping waiting for buses after the match. That was after the Birmingham match in 07/08. I'm assuming he was an away fan but I'm not sure. He had a Scottish accent.
Near to the Reading fan who was put in a coma (stabbed, beaten up) by Pompey fans in 1978 when they "took" the whole ground.
On the receiving end of coins from Walsall fans from the platform opposite waiting for a train at Walsall after a match about 10 years ago.
Asked if I was English by a load of Argentineans when at the Brazil Vs Argentina match in the 1982 World cup during/just-after the Falklands War when cheering after Brazil had gone 1-0 up. (Prior to that I'd kept quiet.)
Not actually been thumped so far and hopefully that run will never end.

Was on the end of an attempted headbutt after the 2-2 Chelsea draw on Boxing Day 2006. Slight damage to my glasses, but equally worth it after securing a well earned point.

Agreed, until Snowball shows up with some stats as to how Shane Long could beat the fcuk out of all of us.

Took a whack outside the Victoria Ground, Stoke, our first game after Bolton '95. Stupidly was wearing colours and 2 of them block the pavement and 1 took a swing which glanced me, so I clumped 1 of them with my radio I had bought the day before in Argos which shattered on impact, allowing me to gain 30 yards before his mate got into gear.

Got whacked twice within 24 hours, neither supporting Reading. At uni in the midlands with a couple of Leeds' fans and went to their play off final play off (in the days of 2 leg finals which had both been drawn 1-1) against Charlton held at St Andrews. Jumped on the way back to New Street by some locals, although in fairness a bunch of Leeds' fans following leant a helping hand.

Next day, both of my mates, very downbeat after losing, decided to go and drown their sorrows in Wolvo town centre. I joined them and we all got lashed by mid afternoon. Left the pub right in the middle of Wolvo carnival, so thought it a good idea to jump on the back of a float giving it a loud rendition of "We are Leeds". Locals took great offence and caught us in BHS where we took a bit of a beating.

Bizarrely the WM OB who came to sort it out insisted on escorting us to Wolvo train station and putting us on a train to Birmingham, despite us trying to say we lived in Wolvo. Never the brightest bunch!

Lumped in the head outside Brisbane road in the early nineties (McGhee side, probably 92-93). Walking against the flow of Orient fans and one took offence and me and a couple of mates walking the other way. Still my mate kick him on the way past. No one else reacted!

Watched the mass Brummie hoards (mentioned earlier, Gilkes late winner) invade the pitch and protest largely against their board. Then turned on us but by then we were behind a very nice line of OB! I seem to recall one (or more) of the coaches had wome windows bricked as well.

Coined at Cardiff, but everyone is as the home fans walk home behind the away end, whilst the OB keep the away fans in. It's like rats in a barrell!

Watched Cardiff, or was it Swansea rip the away end apart at EP in mid-nineties and OB were at Hungerford beating up hippies, but everntually turned up when it was almost all over.

Bit of a rumpus in Slough car park during 3-3 FA cup draw (we lost a 2 goal lead iirc), but nothing actually inflicted on me fortunately.

Never really seen anything of note at the Mad Stad other than lots of shouting and running when the likes of Yeovil, Bristol Rovers and Milwall turn up.

Zammo Swindon away. Donkey's years ago.

Got coined. Lost 4-0. Made about £1.50.

1988. My first away match. A 4-0 drubbing followed by the Battle Of The Magic Roundabout. I thought all away games would be like that.

Got a slap away at Stoke in about 2004. When some neanderthal chucked a glass at another Reading fan, I compared his throwing to his team's shooting. He didn't like that.

Chased by Exeter fans across Prospect Park 1979/80 season was only 15 - I think we'd one the game easily.

There was no replica kit back then - must have been wearing scarf I guess.

Remember this. Went with my missus and we got clobbered by bits of masonry and coin. What a bunch of yokel c*nts.

Father and son Wolves combo wanted to have a pop at us on Reading station late doors long after we'd 'Archied' 'em 2-1 in six minutes of injury time at Elm Park. Two of them, nine of us, stupid Midlands arses.

Acre Road against Fulham in the Keegan era. Fulham's 'enclosure' boys, plenty of car coats and driving gloves as they got wound up by some Reading fans and a mass street brawl ensued. Got smacked by a Reading fan who thought I was one of them. Tsk.

Gillingham away 86 or 87-ish. Golf balls flying in the away end from our Kentish cousins. On the way back to our mini-bus, abused and driven at by some locals who then got stuck in traffic. Another bus load of Reading boys from Wooders set about deconstructing the car and its inhabitants. Very violent.

One of our own fans at Oldham when Deano scored up there on the plastic. He smacked one of ours for no reason. Soiled himself in the stairwell as we waited for him after the game. 'Leeds Boy', you know who you are.

Surprisingly Brentford's 'geezers' after we won promotion in 2002. Strolling back through the park near the church by the Beehive, a firm of particularly aggressive locals really wanted to cause some serious harm. We dodged down a side alley, preferring more beer to blood.

Albion fans in the R and T a few years ago. Gobby little bastards. Some idiot Reading fan had invited these mongoloids - Viking hats an' all.

Is there any point of starting a 'Have you ever dished out a kicking at a game?' thread?
There's a lot of Reading on the receiving end of violence but no ones seemingly ever retaliated or started it...

As for me I like to give it the large but I'm not really a fighter, watch out for JSC though.

I remember a game away at Brammall Lane around late 70's early 80's which we lost.
Travelled up on the coaches. After the game we were walked back to the coaches parked some distance away which required a Police escort. This kept us at bay from the United marauding bunch. Then I received a kick and a punch in the back looked behind and realised that some Sheff fans had infiltrated the marching convoy.
I explained to one of the escorting coppers what was going on and was told in no uncertain terms to get back in in the group or get nicked!
I subsequently got laughed at by some of our northern friends who continued to kick and punch out randomly whilst the coppers turned a blind eye!
Happy days

(By the way you never really wore colours then)

Got chased at Crewe. At Newport County I remember running away over car bonnets.
I was also threatened at Pompey by a gimp in a wheel chair  Well I could hardly offer him out could I
Remember Cardiff playing Wokingham which got really hairy, but luckily never had a good hiding.

Who can remember standing on the South Bank at EP when we or the opposition scored and you realised that you were suddenly surrounded by opposing fans. Sheff Wednesday and Barnsley sprang to mind.

Not being around in the 70's and 80's I have no recollection of that happening regularly, but I remember the South Bank being full of Man Utd in the cup game Jan 96. Giggs plonks it in, cue pandemonium around us and one particular Utd fan getting smacked down the front.

There were a few dodgy games in the late 70's early 80's with away fans in the South Bank - Portsmouth & Millwall in particular. Remember the Portsmouth game in 1976/77 relagation season when they charged across the pitch from Town End to Tilehurst End after Steve Hetzke scored.

Funny, because I've always found West Brom fans to be extraordinarily friendly. Have always been of the opinion that their Yam Yam cousins had the monopoly on brainless thuggery.

When you grow up in the gangland that was Burghfield Common in the 1990s, you learn very quickly how to look after yourself.

Intriguing isn't it? Until last season that was exactly my impression of them, however their attitude during the FA Cup games completely altered that. RG30's mate got headbutted after no provokation as Jimmy Kebe waltzed through on 9 seconds, their reaction to defeat, and their all-round belligerent nature during and after the league game in which they snatched a draw.

Also, my boss, a Birstol Rovers fan, says that they always have trouble with Baggies fans. Something to do with Rovers sending them down in the early 90's.
