Back from the game - QPR

by PistolPete » 06 Nov 2010 17:28

On the tube...

Outplayed by their eleven men, beaten by 10. Taraabt was, as expected, different class. Although the play acting of his is pathetic.

But the two major gripes are:

1) Matt Mills. Mistimed every tackle and misplaced every pass.

2) Reading fans. What a bunch of mongs. The abuse of paddy kenny was to be expected, but the hysteria when he celebrated was embarassing. Served us right...

Notable lol's to the man in the hat worried that the kids would hear the 'trumpet up the arse' chant, to shane long scoring a belter, and to BM's action man salute.

Verdict: good enough wide players for RFC but not good enough central players.

Fed 5
griffin 7
Harte 6
Zurab 6
Mills 3
Jem 6
Tabb 7
Howard 5
Jobi 7
HRK 6
Long 7

Church 7
Hunt 6
Antonio 7

QPR fans 3
Reading fans 2

Hate 4-5-1. I don't care if it works occasionally. Hated it under Pardew and hate it under McDermott. With the quality wingers we have here we should be playing two up front.

Taraabt is quite good isn't he?

They'll go up this season - decent side tbf

Loved Shane's goal (2 strikers on the pitch)

Why did HRK off instead of Jobi?

LOL at 'ding fans turning on each other in the upper concourse at ht

If QPR hadn't been bought by the billionaires Taarabt would never have signed for them. Ever!
F*cking pissed off. Not good enough. Oh and Howard is crap, Mills was lucky to stay on the pitch and how did Harte and Church miss their chances? BIG changes for Wednesday.
Oh and ditch 4-5-1. It's useless, defensive and it DOESN'T work at home!

Officially back now - yeah, Taraabt is class and they will probably go up, and credit to Warnock if they do.

A VERY tough, athletic, organised back four - with or without Orr, 1 target man who can't hit a barn door but wins everything that is thrown at him (Hulse), 3 talented attacking players supporting him (Smith, Mackie and Taraabt) and a proper captain in the middle of the field in Derry.

I just read the match thread and a few people are questioning McDermott's tactics. I actually think that we looked the more likely to score at 0-1 and 11 on 10 so I dont blame him for keeping the formation and players as they were. QPR's second and third goals seemed to come a bit against thre run of play and when the third went in we might as well have had 14 players on the pitch as we were by then well beaten.

I would perhaps argue that at 0-0 and 25mins in, we were being so overrun that THAT was the time to change things...

(still think our fans are/were mongs today. Is it just that football will always bring out the inner self righteous, hypocritical, one-eyed twat in all of us?!

Looked like Howard with the challenge for Taarabt's penalty from the clip on SKY, but I'd like to see it again before I committed to being sure about that.

oxf*rd awful challenge and lucky to be on the pitch afterwards that's for sure, whoever it was.

Enjoyed the game but we had gilt edge chances to get back into it that we didn't take. Forgot why I hate Warnock so much, their players were diving and timewasting all over the place which was a shame because when they got on with it they played great stuff. They're not as good as they think they are but we clearly don't have the quality they do.

Wasn't impressed with harte, mcanuff took too long to get the ball in the box, Griffin never looked up when our forwards were making great runs, Howard was good, so was HRK (although noone passed to him in the second half) and the crowd was pretty poor.

You can't blame Mills for getting angry at Taarabt, that was an awful dive and no way Mills should have been booked. Its a shame Taarabt, who is a very skillful guy, lets himself down with shameful play-acting.

Long's goal was fantastic, hope this stops the moaners getting on his back.

Why we continue to play with such shite fullbacks is beyond me. Harte and Griffin, outclassed and out paced today for 15th time this season. Does Bm have tactics for the opposistion or do we just play the same each week?? Why didn't we man mark taraTwat out the game?

We are an average team we can hold our own against the teams around us against the better teams we will struggle as shown today and on Weds. Today just shows the difference between investmant and a team playing within there budget. Our support was poor today but what about them? 15,000 with 2,500 from Reading!

Definitely. Completely outclassed by that midfield, but we seemed to have no belief.

If we play as badly on Wednesday we'll lose 0-3 or 0-4

Even down to 10 men we were outplayed. We had to put 2 players on Taarabt, and still he out-muscled and out-played them. Howard gave away the penalty, Taarabt having just waltzed past Griffin and Karacan (?) in the corner of the pitch. No complaints about that penalty.

Mills is captain in name only. It was Zurab who was organising the back line and sorting out Mills, who was lucky to stay on the pitch after his petulant hissy fit. He is a red card waiting to happen as soon as the pressure is on - he hasn't yet learned how to control and channel his emotions in a positive way.

QPR remind me of Bolton in the way they play - or perhaps the Bolton of the Allardyce era rather than the current team. They are physical, fit, and skillful, and they are probably going to go up this season. On today's showing, we are some way short of that level.

First half, zero attempts on or off target

Second Half, outplayed by ten men

All in all a steaming pile of shit of which the players, officials and management of Reading FC should be completely ashamed.

One bright note, however shit it might have been today, it doesn't even compare to last season's 'effort'.
