Alan Partridge
Schards#2 First half, zero attempts on or off target

Second Half, outplayed by ten men

All in all a steaming pile of shit of which the players, officials and management of Reading FC should be completely ashamed.

One bright note, however shit it might have been today, it doesn't even compare to last season's 'effort'.

Oh, I don't know, going in at half time 11 V 10 only to be pissed all over in the second half.

Gutless and toothless in equal measure.

My previous two away games were West Brom in the league last year and Watford in April so it was nice to make it 3 straight away trips where we were utterly outclassed :(

QPR were very good and why Taarabt is playing in this league is beyond me as he's far too good. That being said he is an arrogant diver who shouldn't need to resort to such theatrics, but then neither does Ronaldo and he still does it.

I think it says a lot about the gulf between the sides when you look at the teamsheets and know that you'd gladly take around 9 of their 11 over your own so going into the game I didn't expect much.

First half we did a decent job of keeping the ball but had absolutely no threat whatsoever and I don't remember a single shot, yet alone forcing Kenny into a save. Our best chance was when Jobi got to the byline and couldn't even beat the first man with the cross :/ As for QPR they should have been 2 up before the penalty and I've no complaints with the decision, needless foul and a waste of the lives Rob Hulse had given us.

The red card then gave us a hope into the second half and we had a couple of pot shots straight away but didn't really have a big chance to shout about. Then they scored a lovely second goal and the writing was on the wall. A good goal from Shane gets us back in the game only for Smith to finish the game off and it's goodnight.

Teamwise....

Feds - 7 Brilliant save from the free-kick and shame it just happened to land to Smith.
Griff - 6 Taarabt had his number but it's harsh to hold that against anyone
Mills - 5 Honestly the guy needs to learn how to control his emotions far far better if he wants to make it to the next level
Zurab - 7 Thought he was solid all afternoon and it's great to have him here.
Harte - 5 Worst performance from him in a Reading shirt for me, didn't offer anything going forward and set pieces didn't make up for it, his positioning also seemed suspect.
HRK - 4 Didn't seem to do anything at all in the first half and was little better in the second. If Kebe isn't fit then give Antonio or Hunt a run out please.
Howard - 5 Not a good game for Brian, nearly scored late on but ineffective.
Karacan - 6 Game seemed to pass him by, he worked hard but passes were being misplaced too often
Tabb - 6 Again he worked hard but didn't have a great game and fell over once or twice when in good areas.
McAnuff - 6 Our best attacking outlet and looked the only person capable of hurting QPR today. Sadly despite some good runs his final ball was lacking and he'd all but given up by 3-1.
Long - 6 At the risk of being attacked by Snowball it was a wierd reversal day for Shane in that I felt his play outside of the box wasn't up to his recent high standards but his finishing spoke for itself with 1 shot and 1 goal. Still he busted a gut until the very end so can't fault him for that.

Subs - 6's all round.

Otherwise felt the atmosphere in the ground was pretty poor, I'd forgotten how little leg room you got as well :| lol at all the Reading fans getting wound up by the 'Mexican' and a special place in hell is reserved for the little sh*t sat behind me who at every goal kick shouted in a half broken voice 'THATS YOUR HEAD READING' and if it was Feds shouted 'BIG KICK FEDDERS' first time I've ever felt I might need to physically assault someone at a game before. I'd rather have had Snowball spouting stats behind me ;)

But meh, not too unhappy tonight and move on to Wednesday.

Big Foot Reading fans were embarrassing today, mass me disgusted to go to away games

To quote Afers (RIP in peace) "Today will be an utter mong fest - glad I'm not going TBF".

How the hell did we concede two goals against 10 men? That was begging for a 1-1 draw! We missed (the good version of) Kebe and too many of our players had a merely average day. Need more than that to beat the good teams in this division.

Feders - 7 Couple of great saves and didn't do much wrong. Landed it on Long's head every time but that's obviously what he's been told to do as Tabb's not much of a target!
Griffin - 5 God I miss Murty! Not 1 overlap in sight and he scares me whenever their left wing starts to run...
Mills - 5(+1 for passion) Lucky to be on the pitch after 1 missed trip, 1 penalised stamp and 1 unpunished face-off. Oh and he played some football occasionally too
Kizi - 6 More solid than Mills
Harte - 4 Think he pulled his right quad in the 1st half and never seemed to be very effective after that
Howard - 6 Usual stuff - doesn't try to give that killer pass often enough, wish he would because he's good when he does it
Jem - 7 Worked his socks off but not enough attacking intent. The Howard, Tabb, Jem triangle in the middle doesn't seem to have enough cutting edge to it.
Tabb - 5 Don't remember him having one shot on goal - what's the point of him playing just behind Long if he passes everything sideways?
Kanu - 5 Tried his best but that wasn't good enough. Gave up trying to take on his man and should have been pulled earlier.
McAnuff - 5 Has lost the confidence to go around people. Does Brian keep playing him in the hope he'll get back into last season's form or give up and give Antonio a run? And don't play him in the middle, he's no idea how to play there!
Long - 8 another hard shift of being battered and no-one getting anywhere near his many knock-downs. The wingers look too scared to push on unless they're sure he's won it (i.e. too late) and Tabb doesn't seem to want to go past him. But that beautiful strike should do him good - more of the same please!

Subs - Hunt on left wing is wasted, Antonio was good as usual, Church is looking sharp. 4-4-2 on Wednesday with Church and Antonio on from the start please.

Reading fans: Atmosphere in the top right corner must have been better that others are reporting - it seemed pretty good up there where we were until the last 10 mins.

Inept performance today.

I thought the atmosphere was pretty decent until we went 3-1 down.

John Madejski's Wallet
lowerwestjnr Why we continue to play with such shite fullbacks is beyond me. Harte and Griffin,

:| :| :|

Is there a problem with your colon : and | button? Because i can't see why you would disagree after watching Griffin be as useless as Bristol, Swansea etc..

Thoughts for the day:

Thought it was a good game, certainly end to end at 10v11. We were outclassed until the red card.

Terrabt is the nuts. (I wonder what his wages are?) QPR Will go up this season.

We are mid table certainties and have never looked like anything else so far this season. So did you expect anything else from today?

Loftus Road > any other of the 16 or so plastic lego sets in our League. Leg room no issue, everyone stood up. For 15k, a proper atmosphere in the 2nd half. Dont knock it, you wont get that at our place.

Our support sank to new depths. Some people are so fcking clueless, they were chanting something about a mexican to the Morrocon bloke supporting the best player on the pitch.

Thought we were average tbh, nothing woeful, just got shown up by better players.

Coming from one of the more intelligent football posters on here that is worrying.

FWIW do you think that the loss of Siggy has had a detremental effect on the squad?

Despite the stats it seems that the goals from him from distance are missing from the current players.

Sombrero = Mexican you plank. Just because he has a Morrocon flag to support Taraabt doesn't mean he was.

Struggled to get into the game, their football just too good.an evident gulf in class. Tried hard all over the pitch, but even vs 10 men it still looked like they had 2 more players. The lads kept trying the right things though, and got to laugh at brian going 4-2-4 at the end.

Why do people make such a big deal of fans taking the mick out of that mexican guy? So what? It's a bit of fun, whenever I go to away games I try my best to make myself as loud as possible. The guy don't care, it's just a bit of a laugh.

I actually thought our support was pretty good today, I sat lower tier, Z3, and all of us were standing for 90 mins.

Beaten by a much better side today, didn't even get a shot in during the first half, can't argue with the result. Could have easily been 4-0 down by the break. Second half was better, but probably due to them being down to 10-men. Passed the ball around nicely in 2nd half to tire them out, didn't work as they hit us on the break.

Nothing to get upset or annoyed about, they were better, if we continue to play like that against the rest of the teams then we won't do badly imho.

Cracking goal from Shane Long - absolutely fantastic.

and that guy is in the same spot every year with his old fashioned rattle - he doesn't seem to mind the banter so why are Reading fans moaning?

Agree, apart from your comments about the support
A good game, good atmosphere, shame about the result
But I thought that Terrabt was the difference
QPR were more physical and more cynical (nothing else should be expected from Warnock) but this guy is a class above anything else in the Championship
I don't know if we thought about man marking but we should have tried it - perhaps noone has the pace to keep up?
